Two for me too. It's a fine Wutty.
  2. Toast

    Cutty Madness. Match 3.

Two in a big way. The spur could be a touch longer, but that's a beauty.
  3. Toast

    Cutty Madness. Match 1.

    One for me too.
  4. Toast

    Cutty Madness. Match 2.

    Two for me.

    16 Carvers. 16 Cutties. Let's Pick a Winner!

The last set was awesome - I'm really excited to see them.

    Royal Mail Hack

I was at the Post Office this morning (near London Bridge), they said Parcel Force was running again. Not Royal Mail & no idea when that'll restart.

    British Burleys

Having looked into this myself it's pretty much the ABF & Kendal Kentucky for the Burleys. VaBurs, on the other hand, I think the following fly under the radar a bit: GH, Brown Flake Unscented & North Star, & Peterson Irish Whiskey. Special Virginia RR is how I imagine US codger blends taste...

    Are wood stems clench-able?

I have a Pete Prevost with a box stem. It's a tiny little nosewarmer, so I don't really need to clench it. It did lead me into the dark depths of recorder maintenance (they use box fairly often apparently). Since then I've been coating it, inside & out, with sweet almond oil to stop it...

    Japanese Tobacco Mystery

I use plug tobacco shaved super thin in my kiseru. I'd love to try some of the real stuff though!

Who Smokes Tiny Briar Pipes? Resting Them?

I love shorter pipes, so I've enjoyed this thread a lot. Since we're showing off the really little guys - fully drilled:

    Pipes With Bamboo Shanks?

Love it! I've quite a few with bamboo & I do prefer it lined (though that adds to the weight). That's mainly because unlined bamboo seems to collect fluff from pipe cleaners & that gets horrible pretty quickly. I use a straw cleaner to get that out. Otherwise I treat them exactly the same.

    HH Bold Kentucky

Their rep told me the same, but that may have changed (though I'm told they'll be charging a fair bit more for it).

Was this pipe a false economy?

Yup, here you go: Pipe Tobacco - Pipe Tobacco Samplers - GQ Tobaccos - https://www.gqtobaccos.com/pipe-tobacco-samplers/

Was this pipe a false economy?

I'm UK based & an ex cigarette smoker. I've never smoked a pipe with a filter, but otherwise nothing you've mentioned sounds like it will cause significant issues. It's been a while since I looked, but GQ used to do samplers of the year - which gave a pretty good selection of different types...

    Show Me Those Paneled Pipes!

I only have the two. This Ryan Alden: & a Nate King:

Wilsons Of Sharrows - New Tobacos!

I hope not! Just ordered the Sharrow Gold today, so we'll see on that one. 🤞

Wilsons Of Sharrows - New Tobacos!

Here's hoping! There's definitely a niche opened up & it makes a lot of sense for them to try to fill it. If they release Best Dark as a pipe tobacco, I'm going to be all over it!
  18. Toast

Wilsons Of Sharrows - New Tobacos!

One (hopefully) non-aromatic - Sharrow Gold which I'll add to the next order. Makes a nice change from things being taken off the market here!

Let's See All of the Commissions You Had Made

Of the two I've kept so far, a Jack Howell: & a Wandi Riyadi:

Blue Room Briars Handwritten Notes - A Nice Touch

I've over ten pipes from them & never been less than amazed by how above & beyond they go. Huge fan.
