This one was difficult for me.

#2 is exceptional in all respects except the briar had minor flaws (the plateau) and the choice of the stem.

On the other hand #1 is a better briar, nice deep blast though I don’t like too much artistic license on what is a Cutty, and overall gloomy choice of colors.

After all considerations it is #2, and might be able to guess who she is.
Finally! I was really starting to feel bad there, hahaha. Interesting your concern about #1 and "artistic license" with what is a cutty. I would consider that pipe cutty as all hell.

Seems like the top pipe is the winner. No contest. You may as well tell us who carved it, since the bottom one is obvious anyway. They're both beautiful and this is a cruel exercise and you are an incorrigible enabler.

1st one. Actually even more of a gulf then with the other set (the second match up). I really do not like the other one (the second one). I'd trade it for a cob honestly. Though the pipe it's matched against (the first one) is a real gem. Wouldn't be too shocked it it went all the way.
