    MARXMAN Pipes, anyone?

I just spotted this: I wonder if Marxman was where the whole business of starting naming conventions (coffee & what have you) with 'regular' in place of 'small' began...? -& I like how the last option is 'massive'!

    MARXMAN Pipes, anyone?

I hadn't really paid attention to that. I suspect you're right. It was unsmoked when I bought it, so someone paid a lot of money to have it sit in it's velvet case waiting for me. Which was kind of them!

    MARXMAN Pipes, anyone?

That's a beauty, I really like that one! Honestly, I agree. I suspect the only thing between it & a 400 is size. The 400 adverts talk about massive blocks of briar - & the one I have is seven inches.

    MARXMAN Pipes, anyone?

Thank you, I love it. & yup, in very fancy font (hard to photograph, so sorry), a The Four Hundred:

    Cutty Madness Final Results.

I guessed 50%, I think I look at pipes too much. But thank you - this has been such a fun set of threads, I've thoroughly enjoyed it. & you've ended up with some fantastic pipes!

    MARXMAN Pipes, anyone?

Just the one. I generally gravitate to smaller pipes, so I don't smoke it as often as I ought. It makes me smile every time I take it out of the case though.

    Cutty Madness. Championship Match.

In some ways this is the most interesting round for me as both are pipes I've voted against every round so far (my finalists would have been the two that lost in the last round). I'm going to vote 1. Because I think they did their research & spotted that sweet little BBB all wood cutty you...

    Cutty Madness. Semifinals Match 2.

One is pretty near perfect for me, so one it is.

    Cutty Madness. Semifinals Match 1.

Nice & easy this round. Two for me!

    Charatan and Comoys

If that's from BRB, it's the same pipe - & I'm very glad it found a happy home. I didn't smoke it often enough & was basically hanging on to it for the stamping. For the little it's probably worth, having done my best to research it, my guess it that it's a transition era pipe -there seems to...

    Cutty Madness. Quarterfinals Match 3.

One. I'm with LotusEater, it would be a finalist for me for sure!

    Two, for me.

    Cutty Madness Quarterfinals. Match 1.

    One for me too.

    Cutty Madness. Match 7.

This is a really tough match up! Love the size of the first one, but the colour combination on two shades it for me. Just! Awesome pipes & I'm absolutely loving the competition!

    Cutty Madness. Match 8.

Following the crowd on this one. One.

    The Cutty Contest

Seems a solid design choice. Improved performance in water presumably. Glad to see no one's felt the need to ask if they're blasted.

    The Cutty Contest

    Do they both have feet?

    Cutty Madness. Match 5.

One by a country mile. That's a stunner!

    Cutty Madness. Match 6.

Neither are among my favourites so far, but I'll go two this round.
