Can anyone recommend some decent burley blends available in the UK? We seem to have a dearth of so called 'codger' blends, and most of the ones out there are full of dark fired Kentucky, of which I am not a huge fan if it's used too heavy handed.

Thanks!

Thanks! I do enjoy Burley and Bright, but I think it is no longer easily available, and I don't think we get PS's cube cut either.

As I said, we Brits are a bit hard up on 'codger' blends, though there is plenty with dark fired.

Yes, Solani's Aged Burley is one that keeps coming up but for some reason I've never tried. It's been a bit scarce lately too.

Having looked into this myself it's pretty much the ABF & Kendal Kentucky for the Burleys. VaBurs, on the other hand, I think the following fly under the radar a bit: GH, Brown Flake Unscented & North Star, & Peterson Irish Whiskey. Special Virginia RR is how I imagine US codger blends taste, but I've no idea if that's true!

Yes - I am rather fond of GH's Brown Flake, and North Star was quite good. I'd like to give Rodeo a go next.
