Enough to Make a Grown Man Cry

I'd heard rumors that the government was doing secret nuclear testing in Dunhill pipes. Better check it for radioactivity.

    Show Off Your Canadians Here!

Just added this Lorenzo Savona Studio 805 to my collection. I'm liking the flat bottom that makes it a well mannered sitter.

    Vauen Zeppelin Pipe

I've got one of the original briar zepellins. It smokes just fine but it requires some amount of fussing around to load and light. So it's not something I'm inclined to put in the rotation. It's an interesting pipe to have my collection though. I'm not sure I'd pay $245.00 for a plastic one.

    Bible App

Dude opined: You haven't listened to cosmologists and physicists attempt to explain what happened before the "Big Bang". It's very much like a theological discussion except it's done with blackboards full of equations, most of them containing the infinity symbol.

    Criminal Behavior

Seems to me laws are used to protect life and property, not to keep people from being offended. If that were not so I would have had my father in law arrested a long time ago from frying beef kidneys.

Great Quote by Mark Twain on Anti-Smoking Movement of the 19th Century

deathmetal wrote: The insurance industry has always been offering health care insurance. I think the biggest changes have come about since government has gotten involved. (Not just gotten involved but wrote the rules for it.)

    The Nationality of Matches

I like using matches but the cost per light is too high. Those Swedish Matches are particularly expensive, $14.20 for three boxes of 45 on Amazon.com. Diamond Strike Anywhere kitchen matches (a mere spark of what they used to be) come in at around a penny per light. I've been using bees...

    Produce More Smoke ?

Personally, I prefer to not to put most of the tobacco into the air. For me it's best enjoyed in sips. I do think that some tobaccos produce more smoke than others, but that's not the primary reasons for smoking a pipe. It's the taste, right? TEHO. Welcome to the forums, BTW!

My Wife Thinks I Look Funny Smoking This Pipe...

I'd say that's a nice pipe. I've been gravitating towards pipes with longer straight stems recently even though I prefer bent for comfort and practicality. Enjoy!

    Brebbia or Stanwell

My favorite rhodie. Ok, my only rhodie. That's an Peterson Irish Harp 999. They go for around $120 or so. The Donegal Rocky version is less, but I can't vouch for that one. Since I need another in that shape I've got my eye on Brebbia Ninja Sabbiata 301. It's about the same price.

    Who's Using "The Pipe Tool"?

I thought it might be an interesting way to keep track of my pipe accumulation so I signed up. I ran into roadblocks with my very first pipe. The first field is for pipe manufacture and LHS is not to be found on the drop down list of pipe makers. It's a required field, so that ended that little...

Buying A House Is A Complicated Nightmare

I read somewhere that buying a house is as one of the top five stress inducers in our lives, just under the stress level of going to prison, I think. The staggering amount of money involved, the long term financial commitment, all the variables out of our control, etc.. Be sure to celebrate when...

State of the U.S. Factory Pipe

My feeling is there are serious QA problems going on at the Dr Grabow factory these days.I won't buy a new one unless I can inspect it myself first. I don't think it's necessarily a new problem because I have estate Grabows that vary wildly in quality, all the way from amazing quality to...

Show Off Your LHS Pipes Here

In 1924 L. Stern applied for a patent for a self cleaning pipe he called, "The Purex". I can't say for sure, but this became his premier line of pipes for that time period. As more lines were introduced subsequently the Purex remained as its own line with the more expensive Sterncrests...
