    Tobacco Globalism

I must say, Bob Gregory's tone above differs markedly from his optimism and enthusiasm during his merger press release only 4 years earlier [LINK]: "After months of deliberation and negotiation I am pleased to advise that the House of Samuel Gawith and Gawith Hoggarth will merge on March 18th...

    Tobacco Globalism

From the Dutch Pipe Smoker blog [LINK]: "Samuel Gawith no longer attends the fair [Inter-Tabak] since Bob Gregory left. I read on PipesMagazine the following: “Chris (Gawith) has recently taken over the company with the passing of his father and is now in the process of applying his expertise...

On Tuesdays, And Saturday Mornings Before 8:37 AM, The Left Side Of The Blend Tastes Differently From The Right Side Of The Blend

With such a discriminating palate you'll be able to write three reviews for each pipe tobacco! Have you tried the effect of wearing differently-colored socks has on the way the Perique "plays" with the Virginias? 😂

    G&H Doing Rattrays and McConnell?

I think ultimately what's going to happen is the opposite. Unless there is a "next generation" at Gawith preparing to take control of the family concern, the company will likely be bought out by Kopp or Scandinavian and run as a subsidiary, with unavoidable changes to our favorite tobaccos...

    G&H Doing Rattrays and McConnell?

Very interesting. Are they now distributing Kopp tobaccos in the UK?

    Tobacco Globalism

Thanks for the information. Is this Dec. 31 statement a press release from their website?

    Tobacco Globalism

That doesn't mean that Scandinavian or Kolhase und Kopp wouldn't try, just means grumpy old pipe smokers like you and I will quit smoking it while younger smokers won't know the difference.

    Tobacco Globalism

I've got a growing suspicion that the Danes and the Germans will eventually own the rights to all the tobaccos we so treasure, British or otherwise.

    Tobacco Globalism

I heard this from a friend on a zoom call two weeks ago. Just because Kopp is a K&K subsidiary that handles pipes, pipe cleaners etc., doesn't mean it's preparing to become a separate entity.

    New Pipe Cabinet Solution

Al @ssjones , pardon me if I missed this but what is the plastic Saran wrap for?

    I Did Something Crazy

Let me know if you're ever interested in attempting a trade. I'm fairly adept at finding a broad selection of pipe tobaccos, domestically-produced Turkish offerings being one rather significant exception.

    Atlanta Area Good Pipe B&Ms

Arango attempts to coerce retailers to sell Arango-distribution pipes (like Nording) otherwise they won't receive an allotment of Esoterica. Point blank.

    Atlanta Area Good Pipe B&Ms

A few years ago Arango tried to play the pipes for Esoterica game and the owner wasn't having it. I'm not sure he ever got any again after that, not at least as far as I'm aware.

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

Yes it did, and I know the new owner is very happy to have snapped it up! Hopefully he posts photos later so we can get a closer look. 😁

    Hi Everyone From İstanbul/Türkiye

@ThePiperBadik would you happen to have access to the tobaccos from Gladora Tobacco or Bosphorus? I would be eager to set up a trade with your for whatever you'd be interested in obtaining in exchange.

    Hi Everyone From İstanbul/Türkiye

Welcome! I think you will find that the community here would be very interested in arranging an exchange program to trade for your locally available Turkish tobaccos, which have been sadly unavailable to us for quite some time!

    A Question for georged

I have one such cracked Dunhill. I didn't realize leaving it be was an option, and now I wish I had. I wonder, though, wouldn't putting material inside the crack serve as something of a "wedge" for future heat-cool cycles to propagate the crack further downward? I'd toyed with the idea of...
