I know this seems odd, and it's even more intense during leap years, but when I pack a bowl and smoke it, the left side of the bowl, left from the perspective of the smoker, tastes different from the right side of the bowl. This is particularly noticeable in stack shapes. It's like I have two distinct blends, side by side, smoldering away. My question is, why is this more intense during leap years?

It's my understanding that writers who use different from instead of different than are more discerning in all matters pertaining to taste and judgment. Then again, you're not cross-eyed are you? In my case, the right side of the bowl tastes different from the left side, rather than the left side tasting different from the right. Only happens when I'm sozzled though, when my faculties are at their peak, and before the police come.

Maybe salt bath the pipe or sand the bowl walls ?
Not being funny but Ive never had that occur. My experience is Its either all good or all bad .
Could it be humidity if smoking outdoors or a moisture issue with the blend? Or a medication
Causing some effect a certain time of day.

I find that on the second tuesday of each week I have to smoke my pipes from the bottom up or they just don't taste right. But tednesday is a whole different shade of numbers all together, i generally have to light them in the middle of the bowl and smoke from the center up and down simultaneously. I find I can only do this with my beerschaum pipes.

Everything is more intense during leap years! See how your bic flame is longer than usual? and as for tobacco moisture, you can forget about regulating THAT before 8:37am!

I don't know why you all are hating on the OP.... I happen to agree with him (all the time on everything), and am very happy he is on this forum. He is the best British Tobacco blend made in the world, and he doesn't smell like granny soap at all. Can I get my damned nose any further up... his...
Here we go again. Cosmic playing nice and agreeing with everything everyone says. Surprise surprise. 🙄

How many times are we going to have to answer the same rookie questions?!?!

I'm sure you've been told 100 times @sablebrush52, you need to rotate your pipes!

Every 3 puffs, take the pipe out of your mouth, rotate it 10 times clockwise. Next 3 puffs, 10 times counter-clockwise. Repeat until you finish the bowl. (if you're in England, do anti-clockwise)

This helps evenly distribute the smoke so that both sides taste the same everyday at every hour. Even on leap years.

I almost forgot the most important part. Clockwise rotations are done right handed and counter clockwise is done left handed. Do your rotations wrong handed and it'll push all the flavor to the center of the bowl and leave the outer tobacco flavorless.
