Very interesting. Are they now distributing Kopp tobaccos in the UK?
With the rumblings at K&K (the Kohlhase brothers left), my first impression was that G&H was taking over the manufacture of Rattrays and McConnell.
I'd think they'd have to make some big changes at the factory if that were the case though. So, I then assumed it was just a distro deal. Probably what it is.

@gawithhoggarth whats up?

Yep, I believe they confirmed at the show that they will be distributing Rattray's and McConnell in the UK. They also had some Sutliff blends to try, but I'm not sure if they were also saying they'd distribute those.

Pretty sure it was nothing to do with production.

Someone correct me if I've misremembered!

I think ultimately what's going to happen is the opposite. Unless there is a "next generation" at Gawith preparing to take control of the family concern, the company will likely be bought out by Kopp or Scandinavian and run as a subsidiary, with unavoidable changes to our favorite tobaccos. Not that there haven't been changes already, mind you. "Family businesses" are a holdover from generations past and I can't think of very many survivors; I'd have to think in the tobacco business it's an outright rarity.

Maybe Laudisi will buy it up and keep the production the same.

What's your thoughts on Germaine's?

We are the distributors of Rattrays and McConnell and Sutliffs in the UK.
Thanks for the clarification, on a sidenote is Samuel Gawith still being produced in the Kendal District?
There has been recent mention of K&K is that distribution or actual production?

Yes of course Samuel Gawith is still made in our factory in Kendal.

"There has been recent mention of K&K is that distribution or actual production?" Not sure what you asking? We are distributors as stated above.
Samuel Gawith was mentioned earlier today in one of these convoluted threads as being part of K&K is all , which set off alarm bells for me at least , thank you for the clarification and all you and yours do.
