Any Thoughts on Getting Pipe Back From Lewis Pipe in MN?

Not much of a coincidence. Rich and I would always cross paths at the local supermarket. He lived in my neighborhood. Rich has so much material of historical significance, including some he was wanting to put together relating to Ashton pipes (I believe video footage) but he never got around...

Any Thoughts on Getting Pipe Back From Lewis Pipe in MN?

Try calling Whiteys Old Town Saloon and asking for George Lewis +1 612-623-9478. Explain the situation I'm sure they'll understand.

I suppose I could try to track down his son who works at Whitey's Bar up the street. They ought to know how to get ahold of him at the bar.

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

We generally try not to post auctions that are in-progress (in fact I think it is a rule) in order to avoid attracting excessive attention to an auction and otherwise increasing competition for any of our members who may be bidding on the pipe.

Portugal has amazing food. I was there last year for a work conference and walked into a supermarket to stock my hotel room. An entire wall dedicated to breads and pastries. Another to cheeses and dairy. Another with every type of sausage and raw and cooked ham. The Portuguese are a culture...

    Microwave

I have a strong lamp in my pipe room. I'll rest a strip of flake tobacco on it to drive out the moisture. I wouldn't use the microwave method as it's also likely to drive out much of the volatile compounds and might leave the tobacco "flat".

Random Question: History of Pipe Tobacco in the U.S.

I would argue that the Golden Age began around 1890, peaked around 1930s, began a decline around the 1950s, and finally kicked the bucket in the mid 1990s. What we're currently experiencing is a marketing executives projection, a mish-mash of historical and modern formulas (the tobaccos...

    Pipe Club

Occasionally they meet in Montecito for spaghetti dinner and wine and open old tins of McClelland. Gosh now I remember, that was probably when I got the itch for vintage tobacco. You gave my a bowl of old Three Nuns and I was hooked! Back in 2008 or so...

Is There a Way to Allow Searching for Three-Letter Words?

In the Google search bar type "site:pipesmagazine.com/forums god" to search for "god" externally. I don't think it's internally possible to search for three letter words.

    Charatan Executive Extra large.

I can't help but feel a little sadness every time a Charatan dating post is made. Ken would've been able to identify the person who made the pipe and likely what they'd had for lunch that day!
