Charatan Executive Extra large.

My latest purchase for restoration, a Charatan Executive Extra large. To be honest I'm still confused on the whole dating front. So any help would be appreciated.
Stamped underneath Charatan's Make,
London England,
Executive
Extra large.
It has a DC stem , no FH or handmade marks, no Lane stamp but does has register mark on the stem. Any help in dating would be amazing. Thanks as always.

Late ‘60’s or later. Lack of a Lane stamp only means it wasn’t intended for export.

I can't help but feel a little sadness every time a Charatan dating post is made. Ken would've been able to identify the person who made the pipe and likely what they'd had for lunch that day!

To me never seemed to be many Charatans available with shape numbers (I loved the 109). Most were freehand, I suppose to take full advantage of what was typically superior grain. Here's a related post from 2019, where Ken chimes in. He is missed.

If memory serves the Executives were not stamped with a shape nr.
Need to check though.

I don't think a freehand like that of any grade would have had a shape number. Just a grade and then additional stamping like your Extra Large.
