***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Glad you're doing better! And yes, it's one of the creamiest blends I've ever had... almost tastes like half and half haha.

Old Dark Fired in a 60's Dunhill bulldog. A few years has really really mellowed this blend. Glad I got a few tins tucked away.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Pure Virginia, while working on “easy” algorithms 🤣… Always a humbling experience to have to re-learn this stuff.

Pure Virginia in an 60s dunhill bulldog. Took a magic eraser to the stem today: did wonders.

Is three sails just the tobacco for you? The price has me wondering about it! In terms of taste, what would you compare it with? Love your pipes by the way!

Finishing off the FVF from last night. Perhaps it’s the dampness, but this particular tobacco takes particularly well to relights and multiple day journeys. The flavor has shifted more into the savory/umami sphere, but still retains some sweetness and lemon tea quality.

    Roasting Your Own Beans

I’m in the Seattle area so a typical 1lbs bag is $18-22. It definitely sounds like I “need” to get into the hobby!

    Roasting Your Own Beans

Side question: Is it economical to roast?

FVF in the Altinay. This is essentially the same consistency as jerky, and extremely damp after almost a year in the jar. However, giving it about an hour worth of dry time and a ripping it to shreds yields a mighty fine smoke.

Roma Craft Cromagnon with some bourbon, which is an infinity bottle of George t stagg, Buffalo trace and something else.

    Drying flake tobacco

I see this in software development all the time: bias towards complexity. 🤣

    Pure Virginia in the meer.

Fresh(ish) capstan blue with a scotch ale. I’ve got 19 more tins which I plan to crack at year intervals—Lord willing. A good alternative to Pure Virginia when looking for something with a bit more bass or darker notes, although lacking the toasty sweet hay flavor I’ve come to love in FV.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

LNF in the Altinay, a “special drink” of maple syrup and Trader Joe’s Apple Cider Vinegar concoction: how I was able to bribe my 4 year old to go outside on this warm sunny day.
