***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Whatcha think of this one? I’ve been wanting to try a whiskey aromatic as booze toppings seem to do well with my chemistry. They don’t seem to drown out the tobacco as much

Jim's Sutliff States of Virginia Limited Edition 2023 Review.

Not just to go a long with the village elder here, but I agree. The amount of knowledge gained concerning blending seems to be well worth 10-15 bucks—I wouldn’t cellar it, but, it’s definitely worth a tin. I think C&D had a blending kit too, but this is more economical.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Probably going to smoke through the rest of this pure Virginia. 2 or 3 years of age, just perfect and simple. I smoked some Westminster (my favorite medium English) and seem to have lost my taste for Latakia. Started puffing on the Virginia, and even more amazing flavors came out. Kind of fun...

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Oddly enough the most “lemon tea” flavor I’ve had so far has been full Virginia flake. Never heard anyone else get that, but I sure do.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Started with some Rouxgaroux, then some twist flake, and finished the evening with some pure Virginia.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Enjoyed a stock from Roma Craft with a friend, some beer and a scotch, and some good conversation. I’ve found that pipes are more solitary for me, and cigars allow great conversation.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

50/50 briar fox and pure Virginia in the dunhill bulldog. I’m going to try 75 pure Virginia 25 fox to experiment but 50/50 seemed just perfect. Both baccy’s have a great “pure taste” and compliment one another fantastically!

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Pure Virginia, LNF, and now Capstan Blue. Trying to understand the nuance of different blends. For this hotter day, something about Pure Virginia just hits the spot: all lovely, however.

I’m more than happy with a Don Carlos belicosa, but wouldn’t turn up my nose at one of those! Enjoy!

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

Channeling my inner PNW with some PBR, a dunhill bully and Carolina Red Flake. so, I feel like I had the same issue with haunted bookshop—it was really strange. I’ve been wanting to try the cake version to see if that clears it up…

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

I’ll definitely be experimenting! Haven’t tried Jack Knife yet, but I’ve got sixpence I can experiment with. Curiously, what turned me off from the pairing was Old Dark Fired: to me, the combo tasted something like bazooka bubble gum, and I couldn’t get that out of my mind. But I think whatever...

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

Finished the night off with briar fox, and OGD 114 mixed with a heaven hill bourbon: the only blend I’ve found so far to take kindly to bourbon.

Yeah, I think Hesse wrote a book about that…

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

My thought: there’s a world of difference between the match Sutliff which is supposed to match the Murray’s version and the current iteration such that the current is a different blend altogether. Never had the Murray’s but enjoy the match: they are completely different. It’s the same thing I...
