***What Are You Smoking, July 2023?***

popped a ~2 1/2 year old tin of GLPease Union Square in the Meer. Just what I was hoping for, so boring and perfect--seems like the briar fox of Virginias.

    Smoking without a Filter

Concerning health: Savinelli claims that their balsa filters reduce nicotine by up to 77%. I'm not a lawyer, and I'm not the smartest man, so I don't know for sure, but I would suppose that if there wasn't some truth to this claim, they'd be open to some lawsuits. I don't know how to...

***What Are You Smoking, July 2023?***

Still waiting for my taste for it to come back: been a solid year or so since I "enjoyed" Latakia. Westminster was/is one of my favorites.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

I seriously cannot get enough of this one. It's the perfect proportion, got that cool, I don't know...dubliney thing? going on... The grain is beautiful, the stem has that cumberland look. Just amazing. Nice find.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Never had the ol' Fitz, but recently got a hold of a bottle of Weller Full Proof my wife and I are going to get into after the newest baby gets here. Very cool you can just mosey on over to the Heaven Hill distillery!

The AeroPress - is it a gimmick?

To me the real shining strength of the aeropress is getting a decent cup while camping/traveling/road-tripping. Many a time, we've used the Commadante C40 to grind, then just grabbed some how water from McDonalds to do a reverse press. This works well when you're in the middle of nowhere.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Last night, finished off the Pure Virginia, and pulled out the Tilbury, which is nearing its end as well--talk about a blend that has to be sipped. Every blend behaves so differently. I can puff harder on the Pure Virginia and get great non-bite flavor, but the same pull on the Tilbury left me...

    Estate Pipe Has Perfume Smell/taste

Got some coffee grounds packed into the Dunhill. Will let everyone know how it works for me--heard lots of good about it.

    Cringle flake 2022 mold

That doesn't look like mold to me, but a better picture would be helpful.

    Estate Pipe Has Perfume Smell/taste

Battling this right now with my (I believe 30's era) Dunhill Canadian. I love the pipe, and it smokes great, but I cannot get this "floral" perfume, possibly "sour" taste out of it. I was considering getting the heaviest lakeland, and just embracing it.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

About a bowl or so left of this ol' tin of Pure Virginia... considering what to crack next. Never tried OGS, so I think I will try and track down an aged and a fresh tin for A/B comparisons.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Do you notice the age on this blend verse fresh? ~3 years turned it into something magical for me, wondering what 8 would do.

School Me on Tobacco Maturation and Fermentation

Concerning Vinegar, a good example for me of a 'heavily dosed with white vinegar as a preservative blend' was Mississippi River. I'm thinking this was a preservative as it's slowly diminished in the jar, which I wouldn't expect (maybe?) if it was natural. In my opinion, Elizabethan match doesn't...

***What Are You Smoking, June 2023?***

Another bowl of Old Dark Fired in the Dunhill bulldog. 3ish years has turned this into an exceptional smoke: pure savory, and the Virginia made itself known real well.
