Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of KBV Cajun Safari in a medium bend, half black sandblasted, half brown smooth, rough top 1980 Stanwell 668 dublin military mount with a multi-colored ferrule and a black vulcanite stem. Haven't smoked this pipe in quite a while, although it saw tons of action in the 1980s and 90s. Great smoker.

Finally a chance to sit down with a pipe! At our Airbnb in Bayeux with Viprati in a clay (and will be followed with Viprati in The French Pipe (shape 5) with a very pleasant french IPA. I had loaded the clay earlier as we discovered when we arrived a medieval fair is going on, and hoped to enjoy it in the throng, but too windy, too crowded There was even a blacksmith there but did not ask him to light the clay... Day before was a LONG day of Vintage racing at Le Mans and had loaded the French Pipe there and had just started working on a charring light and got pulled away to the start of the next great vintage race. It was awesome! HUGE! Could not do it all in one day. This was not your local track vintage race day, let me tell you. Way better than current day racing, imho. Also today on way to Bayeux, stopped in at the Brittany American Cemetery. Beautiful, well kept, respectful, ...and profoundly peaceful. Of the many things the US Govt spends money on, this is on the list of what's done right. -- Normandy beaches tomorrow.

Passing the first third of this bowl of year 2013 Capstan Blue Ready Rubbed in a straight black sandblasted 1924 Parker’s Super Briar Bark 11 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe was made in the second year of Parker production. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Reds-Padres game until the Braves-Marlins game starts. The Reds are a spunky team. Can't say the same for the bloated Padres.
