I Finally Tried Some Lane 1Q.

Just had Autumn Evening today. With a fresh palette it’s fun, but it seems to wear me down quickly. I will give RLP-6 a go if/when I get around to it.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

Tried Autumn Evening. I like it. Generally strongly dislike aromatics, but, something about this clicks as it’s the only aromatic I can stand—so far.

Anonymous… anonymous… Anomalous! Thanks for the suggestion, next up (perhaps…)

Mississippi River in a circa 30’s era Dunhill Canadian. Glad I put this aside as the white vinegar has died out a bit, and I’m left with a really well done blend—IMO.

    Where is the Flavor?

I mean, the breathe method changed everything for me. I think I’ve said this before, but certain blends actually taste like strawberry jam spread over pastries, with a caramel drizzle, and the flavor just doesn’t go away… I don’t even taste smoke. I know it’s there, but my mind doesn’t notice...

Such a cool pipe, and looking forward to the review!

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

Sixpence, meer, beer. This pipe has a 9mm filter which I use, and after experimenting I think I’ve come across the way I would describe the effect of a filter on tobacco: French press versus pour over. A French press can have much greater body as filters remove lots of oils and other goodies...

Rougaroux in the meer, with a beer, oh dear. This blend… is an interesting one: the get go is lack luster and I think it’s going to be boring, but it just shifts to be one of the most enjoyable blends after 5 minutes. Eventually, I think I will try and cake this.

I’ll give that a shot! Still like the bottled version, but if tap is even better, I’m stoked.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

Dude, now I’m having flashbacks of chain smoking cigarettes before, and after PT-the things are little bodies could handle!

CRF in the meer, and a NA IPA: makes me feel better about drinking and smoking at 10am, but I am recently unemployed 🤣

    Box Pass 2023 Signup

I wish there was a way to give to the package without participating, but it sounds like there won’t be a problem with great stuff being added. When I meet the criteria, I’m in! Good luck y’all!

***What Are You Smoking, April 2023?***

A 5ish year old tin of sixpence I’ve been working through in my meer. Absolutely fantastic, what a blend! In an effort to appease the Mrs. I’m going to try and make Wed, and Sun my piping days (with certain exceptions of course), however, I can smoke as much as I want on these days… Trying to...

    Irish Whisky

I think @Merton had the right idea, and to elaborate, Ardbeg is an expression of scotch from a particular region, and peated to a heavily degree. To my understanding, malted barley is the go to for Irish and Scotch whiskies, so it’s not the barley that’s bothering you, but rather the peat. If...

***What Are You Smoking, April 2023?***

Not sure if someone has said it, but cube cut it. It was a great experience w/ FVF which has a similar issue—to me.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2023?***

FVF in the meer, a nice stout to accompany. Tried cube cutting: don’t think there’s another way to smoke this jerky lol… In other news, I got laid off this morning. So, been contemplating the gift of work, thanking the Lord, and looking forward to the next stage of my career.

Cornell & Diehl, Captain Earle's Ten Russians Review

I’ve found, for me, I really need a perique and red Virginia base in my lat blends to get my attention. Not a fan of “lat bombs” as they kind of bore me. Thanks for the review, been curious about this one for a while.

HH Pure Virginia. Good tobacco, getting better as the bowl progresses with a great aftertaste. Enjoying with a cup of licorice tea.
