    Crack in Meerschuam pipe

So of the three, did they all start out small then get bigger? Or, was is just all kind of at once? If it was small to large, about how long did it take?

    Crack in Meerschuam pipe

Yeah. Maybe transit? Whatever the case, I need another one anyways. So, it’s a good excuse to preemptively get another: who knows, maybe it won’t grow? I’ll keep on eye on it. If there is a way to patch it, that’d be nice, but… it doesn’t seem to go all the way up, and does seem like a hairline…

***What Are You Smoking, April 2023?***

I love your setting. I probably won’t ever get to smoke indoors, but vicariously, I get to through your posts.

HH Burley Flake in the Dunhill bulldog… I think a 1964, but can’t remember.

    Crack in Meerschuam pipe

It’s never been dropped. Just kind of appeared while smoking. I’m guessing it’s superficial so not too worried, but this material is newer to me.

    Crack in Meerschuam pipe

This might be a bit better. It’s the irregular pattern, and zig zagginess of it.

    Crack in Meerschuam pipe

Yeah, it definitely looks like a scratch in the picture, but in real life it looks like a tiny hairline fracture. My concern isn’t with the crack now, but, since I wanted this to be a hand me down, I wasn’t sure if these things happen, and not to worry, or, if this is a sign that it’s just...

    Crack in Meerschuam pipe

I’m not sure when I noticed it, but I think as the pipe has been (slowly) coloring, it might have become more prominent. In the attached picture, you can see a long vertical hairline crack to the left of some scratches. It’s hard to get to come through in the picture, but it looks different...

    Cringle Flake 2022

    I’m thankful!

    Cringle Flake 2022

Yeah. I don't sense any vinegar on current ODF tins (not to say it's not there). If they use it now, it's well done. Perhaps Mississippi River is one of those "Grandma pickle" blends, haha..

***What Are You Smoking, April 2023?***

Yes. I've been coming back to this tin every other day, and I noticed the same thing. It's almost like no relights, straight to the bottom of the bowl, with like no moisture at the end.

That's what I need for my FVF!

    Cringle Flake 2022

That's good to know. I read a post, which I will try and find, stating that Mississippi River had additional vinegar added as a preservative or something to that effect. Honestly, if that "tang" and "vinegar" is just a natural process I'm more comfortable with it. Mississippi River heavily...

    Cringle Flake 2022

Never tried anything cube cut. I’ll have to give it a shot. Thanks!

***What Are You Smoking, April 2023?***

Smoking Boswell’s Northwoods got me thinking last night about blending my own so I gave it a shot. Now smoking Westminster and 1Q, 1:1. Don’t know why I haven’t done this earlier… Think I’ll call it “London Fog”.

    Cringle Flake 2022

I was going to grab a few tins of this, but then read a couple reviews on tobaccoreviews about a heavy vinegar note. I like a vinegar like quality, but I’m not a fan of vinegar “casing” or topping, or preserving or whatever. The example that comes to my mind is Mississippi River: to me, this...

12Y CS heavily sherried Highland Park, as we get set up to watch the “Unbearable weight of massive talent”. Huge Nick Cage fan!

***What Are You Smoking, April 2023?***

Capstan blue in my Altinay with a cup of water. Anyone else taste chocolate in this stuff? Perhaps kind of like a pancakes with chocolate chips kind of vibe, haha…
