The whole time you’ve used that abbreviation I’ve not known what it is.
What is JC DB?
Sorry I’m lazy, John Cotton Double Pressed Kentucky. It’s a cake but it rubs out into more like a flake. From my experience, most cakes rub out into a ribbon. I don’t tend to like ribbons with some big exceptions like Esoterica ribbons. It’s also nice and dry, but I still dry it further, then it smokes itself, creamy, billows of smoke, high nic strength level which is pretty important to me. Unlike some, I love nicotine and it’s part of why I smoke.

A relaxing afternoon smoke with a mug of Pu’erh tea and the 2009, NWC Commemorative Boswell Poker with some 2011 Marlin Flake.

Nice, I need to get back into Puerh, I have a ton of it and several nice yixing pots, but since I started with a pipe, I only seem to want coffee but I miss my gongfu ritual. What kind of Puerh, if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks for clarifying. I was thinking it might be leftover hops and barley from Jimmy Carter's Dead-brother's PIlsner, Billy Beer, since it was made in Louisville, Kentucky. Thankfully, I was wrong.

Up at bat is Lane's 1-Q. A legendary tobacco. Dare I say that any serious pipe smoker has to have had some experience with 1-Q? From all my reading, it seems that this is a foundational tobacco. Smoking very nice in my Talamona Sabbia.
