Anyone Else a Former Smokeless User?

I used to dip Kodiak Wintergreen back in high school. I'd chew Levi Garrett, Red Man, and the occasional Beech Nut if we were fishing or horsing around. Best nic buzz ever was loading a lip full of Kodiak. I've always used tobacco in some form, but yeah I wish I'd have discovered pipes sooner...

    Peterson Early Production 1970's - 1980's Pipe

I was wondering that too Dur. I know Iwan Ries in Chicago stamps there pipes IRC, but I'm unsure why they would be stamping Peterson's. Oh btw. Great looking birdseye on that lady. I don't think I've ever seen a crenelation like that on a Peterson before.

    Brief intro and few questions

Hey welcome aboard! I know there's at least one bourbon thread floating around and also in one of the early radio shows, Brian had a segment on pairings, but they may have been with primarily Virginias. Me I prefer a little sweet English with my bourbon. I actually prefer VaPers with a nice...

    Seldom Recognized Pipes

I have five Hilson's. Three I really like...two I haven't figured out yet. I bought all mine as estates each for less then $15. I haven't grabbed any of the NOS pipes but if I recall correctly Foggy loves his. Definitely a brand that I keep an eye out for.

Please Recommend Some *Sweet* (Less Hay-Like, Non-Aro) Virginias.

While the Marlin Flake has perique in it, I dont find it over the top. I'm very partial to the stuff and smoke it often. I'd also toss McCelland's Tudor Castle and Beacon into the ring. I know Tudor Castle has orientals in it, but it is a rich sweet smoke. I'm really enjoying my first tin...

    My first Missouri Meerschaum

Grats on your cob! I love them for a nice change of pace, especially when I'm grilling or smoking. I really like the rough unfinished ones. Following a nod from a member here, I have a few unsmoked ones I'm keeping on hand for company who'd like to try a pipe when they visit.

Ann Arbor, MI Pipe Club, signing up at Tobacco Rose

Good luck with your club. I lived in Saginaw for about 5 years and made many trips to Ann Arbor. In fact my wife went to college there for a spell. Her family never forgave her for choosing it over Notre Dame, hehe.

    Ooops I Hit "Bid" PAD

Great pipe! See I can't buy a pipe that pretty...it would make all my other girls feel ugly and insecure. Congratulations!

    Tobacco Suggestions

Welcome to the site Riki! Of the aros I've tried, Frog Morton's Cellar, Short Cut to Mushrooms, Mac Baren Vanilla flake, Boswell's Sweet Tea, and Captain Black: Dark all have been good experiences. I've actually been meaning to grab a Black Cavendish blend for those days I get a sweet tooth.

    TAD has set in... Samplers!

Welcome and that's a nice selection! I'm very fond of Dunhill's EMP and have been enjoying my recent go around with Old Dublin. I've have the flake cut of the Vanilla Cream and that's a really nice change of pace for me. Smooth as silk, especially with some coffee or a bourbon...You just need...

Which Blend Do You Smoke Most Often?

PS LBF. Always a solid smoke and something about it just hits my taste buds perfectly. Its the only thing I buy by the pound.

Restaining Project Gone to Dogs (pic heavy)

My blood sugar shot up 400 points just looking at that last pic. So much sweetness in that girl and pup. Oh and here's a "Pro" tip. Throw away the rags that have any stain on them. Do not toss them in the laundry or your wife (or whoever does the laundry) will wash them with the bathroom...

    Nicotene Levels?

Hey Jonn welcome. Everyone gave some good advice. I like a bit of the Captain now and then. Some Captain Black: Dark fixes that sweet tooth craving I get. I know it seems like a silly question but do you have asthma or allergies which would be slowing down your oxygen intake? I have to focus...
