What Are You Smoking? October 2013

    Dr. Grabow heart colors

Hey Irish. You know I've got a Starfire Dublin that smokes just as well as any of my $100 range pipes. It's really turned into one of those solid pipes that always gives me a good smoke. It's been a really nice surprise and I wouldn't mind picking up another after I finish my vacation fund.

    Jim's Sutliff Private Stock Reviews

Thanks, Jim. I've got a tin of Bosphorus Cruise on my list the next time I put an order in. I liked Barking Dog but I always get the "Burley Ache" in my throat and tongue a few minutes into it.

    Cleaning Lined African Meer? Pics

Yeah I'm going to be one of those people who says something when they really don't know....but I would think alcohol would destroy that Meer especially via retort. Have you thought about ozone?

What Are You Smoking? October 2013

McCelland's Tudor Castle in a Nording Cobra my wife bought me. Coffee and making sure the neighbor kids and mine get on the bus okay. Headed down to Indianapolis this morning and I'm going to try and squeeze a visit to a pipe shop in while I'm there.

    McCelland's Tudor Castle Thoughts

Neil. It was a 2012. Its pretty sweet as is. Personally I am starting to believe I like the "hay like" Virginas aged a bit. Sometimes they seem to thin, but this is very rich. LBF springs to mind when I say it tastes thin when its fresh. The LBF batch I pulled at a year old had a richer...

    McCelland's Tudor Castle Thoughts

I was originally going to just PM this to Cortez and Roth because our tastes can be quite similiar but I figured that was rather silly, when I could just tell everyone. I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase of this tobacco but I've really been enjoying Tudor Castle. It's got that McCelland's...

    Corn Cobs, Mea Culpa

I like mine at work where I don't worry about breaking them on leaving them on a job site. I keep about six unsmoked in case company comes over, but it seems like my kids like to snag them and run around pretend smoking them. I do have a nice R. Santia custom cob I keep just for summer Saturday...

What Are You Smoking? October 2013

Lane's LEO in a Hilson Bulldog. First "solid" smoke I've gotten out of this pipe. Maybe it just likes Englishes. Coffee. Morning everyone.

    New Member From Scotland

Welcome from a corn field in Indiana! And ditto on EMP. Quite a tasty blend. When I first started smoking it really opened up my taste buds and started me down a rabbit hole of different types of tobacco.

Little Surprise From The Wife- Pipe Photo!

I'm not normally a fan of the cavalier but I like that one. Very nice. It looks like it could hang nicely. Does it smoke any different and does it use a "well" system there at the bottom?

    "Rugger Buggers" Declare Yourselves! Please?

I never played, but my father transported me around both the Rugby fields and bars afterwards in my playpen. As I got older I remember playing with the other kids in the bar as our dad's and "rugger huggers" (which is what they called the ladies iirc) sang bawdy songs and ate beer glasses. I...

    Pipe Making

Howdy. I bought a kit from Mark Tinsky that included a predrilled block of briar and a stem. This basically means the thing could be smoked as is, since the chamber, draft hole, and stem are already drilled out. Mr. Tinsky did an excellent job of drillng it. My advice would be to buy a...
