    Presbyterian Mixture - New Favourite!

I think I've found my favorite English blend but you guys are making me want to try Presbyterian Mixture. I love Marlin Flake. It's one of my top 4 tobaccos I keep on hand. Love it. It's like sweet tangy raisins with a little "white pepper sprinkled on plum" note out of the nose.

What Are You Smoking? August 2013

PS LBF in an Aldo Velani Rhodesian/Calabash. Coffee. Got up at 5:30 to start smoking some pork shoulders. A really nice quiet morning since the heathens aren't up yet.

    My Savinelli Autographs!

Nice pipes Mike! I have one Autograph and it's the first pipe I grab when I'm trying out a new English. That partial blast really makes the smooth grain stand out.

    Frog Mortons compared

I think that's a pretty fair assessment by Roth. Going in a different direction then your original post I sum up the three I've smoked as follows. Frog Morton: Latakia. Folds into Virginias/plums. Stalls at 2/3s of a bowl. Town: Latakia and Basma/Vanilla. Soft. Cellar: Latakia with a...

    Under-Rated Pipes

I third the mention of Aldo Velani. I would also like to add Hilson pipes. I just picked up my fifth one.

TAD TAD TAD!!! (Aka, Top Ramen for Me)

That leather pouch you ordered won't hold all that tobacco. FYI.

    Hearth & Home Tobaccos

I've only smoked three H&H blends. Louisiana Red, Black House, and Anniversary Kake- LA Red was a nice sharp citrus like smoke. I quite liked it and have always been meaning to order more. Black House was good but I found it kind of muted after the first 1/3 of the bowl. HOWEVER I'm not a...

Anyone Here Into Weight Loss (pics)

Well I'm chiming in because for the first time in 5 years I am under 250. My XL's fit good again and I feel a lot better. I have cut out nearly 100% of my fast food intake at work and have really been paying attention to what I'm putting in my body. My method isn't the most optimum (I put my...

Inexpensive Savinellis - Worth the Money ??

Yeah Anthony. I have a unfinished Sav loaded with fills and it's a great smoker. Ugly as sin, but it's one of those pipes that always gives a nice smooth smoke.

    Secretive P.A.D or T.A.D?

Agreed MSO. My wife would much rather me huddled around a book, a pipe, and sipping a drink at home instead of running around town like a wild man.

    Mildest of Tobaccos?

Sparrow. Personally I have a strange reaction with Burley based tobaccos. I can handle Cavendish in small amounts, but anything that's primarily Burley based (which includes a lot of aromatics) hurts my tongue and back of my throat nearly immediately. Are you sure it's a heat based issue...

Just Won a Tinderbox St. Ives Pipe

Ditto. That birdseye looks organic, like a cross section of muscle and vascular tissues. You've got good taste Six.

2 Birthday Pipes For the Price of One!

Happy Birthday! Wow. What a nice apple. There's something about them that they just want to snug themselves in your hand. They are probably one of my favorite shapes.

    My First BNIB Dunhill

    Instant Out Pipe

In addition to all that, I find that in a wider bowl I really need to get a good first and second light. A lot of time Latakia can be stubborn for me, until I get an even solid lighting. I still screw the pooch on pack jobs sometimes.

Smoke for Breakfast - Let's Talk About Blends to Start Your Day

Peterson's Irish Oak and a cup of coffee are perfect together in the morning. Although most Saturday's I like my PS LBF in my Saturday morning cob.

What Are You Smoking? August 2013

Capstan Blue in an Aldo Velani bent apple. Coffee. Haven't smoked a straight Virginia in about a year. Making Lengua tacos for lunch. I love home made tortillas, but I hate rolling them out.

    The Ultimate Pipe Cabinet???

Heh. I wonder if it comes with one of those ladders on rails that slide back and forth.
