    Rattray's Tobacco

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'll give Highland Targ a shot on my next order. I'm trying to give the RRR a far shake. It's just missing something IMO. It's just not clicking yet.

    Rattray's Tobacco

Marlin Flake is currently my favorite. I've been trying to get into Red Rapparee, but it just feels a bit light for me. I wish there was more Latakia in it (the booklet says it has it in it), but it's slowly growing on me. I still don't ever think it's something I'd cellar. Since you've...

Help Choose the Next Lane Bulk Blend

Just as long as you keep putting out LEO. It's really a terrific blend...I spent most of the summer smoking it.

    Pipe Tobacco Tin Art

I actually think the Sutliff Tin art completes a nice package with the black labels and gold tops. Bosphorus Cruise springs immediately to mind. Rattray's Red Rapparee also is catchy because of the contrast of colors IMO.

What Are You Smoking? November 2013

Rattray's Red Rapparee in a MM bent cob. Bit mild for my tastes but I'm still giving it a few more bowls.

What Are You Smoking? November 2013

Sutliff's Bosphorus Cruise in a smooth old Peterson 3/4 bent billiard. No shape number but I'm guessing 307ish? Coffee.

What Are You Smoking? November 2013

Rattray's Marlin Flake in a very big Hilson Dublin. Looking forward to a nice big plate of Carnitas Rancheras later tonight along with some ice cold beer.

    10 Pounds

I usually buy 5 tins of something I really like each order, 2-3 tins of stuff I like to keep on hand, at least 16 oz of a bulk, and about 5 new tins of different tobacco's I've never tried. Peck that Tudor castle is one of my absolute favorites. It tastes fantastic with a nice ale like Kentucky...

    Hot Corn Cob

Michael you've gotten some good advice so far. I've only been smoking for a year and a half but I've found that the finished smooth cobs smoke hotter for me then the unfinished rough ones. Besides my custom R. Santia cob, I plan on sticking to the rough ones. Also I think both of the...

What Are You Smoking? November 2013

Morning! Sutliff's Bosphorus Cruise in a rusticated Caminetto pot. Coffee.

    New Pipe

Good looking pipe! I like that stain and the 310 is a great shape.

What Are You Smoking? November 2013

Sutliff's Bosphorus Cruise in an old Hilson straight Apple. One of those "good, solid, smokes". I like reliability, especially when I'm driving around at work. No fiddle-effing around.

    Another Low Grade Pipe Adventure

Very nice! I'm a really big fan of lightening those old heavy stains. I've got several "low grade" pipes that I love to smoke. I don't claim them to be equal to a brand new $400 artisan pipe (not that I've ever smoked one) but they sure seem to smoke better then they should for the $10 bucks...

Next In Line For The Bench

I love that Estella Pot. Can't wait to see it all fresh and clean. Same for that bent Comoy bulldog. I really like that tall bowl. That Hilson is one of the older Belgium ones. 4/5 of mine have all been good smokers. I've got it's cousin in a black sandblast finish and it smokes very dry...

    My First Deep Cleaning (Pictures)

Nice smokey! Just a tip that works for me. I like to take a match and "flame" the inner bowl after I clean it. This gets rid of any fuzzies and a bit of the alcohol taste, then wipe it out with a rag. Don't be surprised if you can taste the alcohol for a smoke or two. Give it a day or two to...

What Are You Smoking? November 2013

McCelland's Tudor Castle in a MM rough cob. Coffee. I really do think the unfinished cobs smoke a head above the smooth finished ones.

The Newest Part Of My Brigham Collection. (Pic Heavy)

Man that is so cool. I let out a Holy @*#@ of my own when I saw the pics. I'm happy for you man.

Need Help Deciding on Some Meerschaums

I've dealt with Marty several times. He's a good guy. He's always been openly honest (and opinionated) when I've asked him questions about a pipe. I tend to think of him as my virtual brick and mortar because I can talk to him openly and he's honest about what he's selling. If he tells you a...
