Featherweights...have them?
Last pipe I made was a 5/8" bowl bore and weighed in at .70 oz. I like smaller pipes for a quick smoke when I just don't want a long smoke.- smokindawg

Yep unclearthur........ I priced the one I want and it's $125. But the company I checked with makes them for many pipe makers and they have good service, so worth it. I always think about needing a stamp as someone may one day want to know "Who Made That Pipe!"- smokindawg

Very cool........ I've made a handful from walnut and they turned out great. Mine are from a slab of walnut burl that my dad found at an old sawmill..... laid under the table for over 40 years.- smokindawg

Well, I have no problem with making a buck, which in these days and times is difficult. When you do something like your talking about, if that's what they are doing, it can be tough. Yep, I wear my helmet and have found as you say. Gravel roads are the worst and I have 2 miles of it either way to get to the pavement. I'm not in the mountains, but have 3 spring fed rivers within an hour or so of the house. Two are stocked with trout regularly. I've been working on this thing for a while now and finally got it dependable, of sorts. It's a Chiinese made 250 water cooled scooter. Runs good and will cruise dandy at 65mph and it is pretty comfortable to ride. Fuel mileage is lots better than the truck and it handles great on the curvy...- smokindawg

Filter stuck in a corn cob
First thing I do when I get a cob is remove the filter before the first smoke. I would think soaking the filter would make it even harder to remove, as it will probably swell even more. How do you use Murphy's Oil Soap...
I use it full strength to remove the buildup of tars on the rims of pipes and I also use it the same on the rest of the pipes. But I don't leave it on long as it will remove stain. As for using on pipe racks, I'd use it following directions on the bottle.- smokindawg
