How do you hold your pipe??

I'm a mixture kind of guy depending on the pipe and what I'm doing. I sometimes clench, like when I'm working in the shop or driving and sometimes hold it such as when I'm watching TV. I've always wondered what would happen if clenching while driving and was to have the air bag go off. Now...

    About Falcon Pipe

This thread got me thinking and right now I'm smoking one of my Falcon pipes. I haven't smoked one in a while and forgot how well they actually do smoke. As said, extra bowls are a plus with these pipes and if your going out and about you can pack different bowls with different blends. Then...

    Pipe lighters

The new zippo fluid is great with no taste. Although the old fuel had a taste, you could bypass this by lighting and letting it burn a few seconds before lighting your pipe. I actually switched and started using campstove/lantern fuel which I didn't find to have a taste and a gallon lasts a...

    Squadron Leader

I bought a couple pounds of SL a couple years ago already aged a couple years. Bought it from another smoker that didn't want it. Got a good price while it was still fairly easy to get. I love the stuff and just finished off a jar of it. Fullbent, if you like English blends, you will love yours...

Just Some Photos From The Road

Yep, such is life on the road. Never a dull moment and never know what may happen next. Great to document it with pictures. Thanks for sharing.

    About Falcon Pipe

Falcon pipes are lightweight being made from aluminum. I've found that they smoke well also. As said, the bowl can be easily removed even during smoking to remove moisture. I however just cut a short piece of pipe cleaner and bend it in a circle and insert it in the trap under the bowl. This...

    Small crack in the stem

Looks like you could just have a tenon replacement on that one. I'm surprised the person that cleaned up the pipe didn't mention that.

I call it my egg pipe

wallaby, nice job for your first............. But be warned, it's a dark path you have started your travels upon. I started out with a pre-drilled block myself for my first pipe. Then I started reading everything I could on pipe making and started practicing drilling on 2x4's using my drill...

    when did you start smoking?

Started smoking a pipe 6 1/2 years ago. I'm now 49. Never smoked anything before that. I started out smoking a Cherry and a Vanilla tobacco that the wife bought me from Wal-Mart. I still have most of both left because I quickly moved on to other blends such as English, VA and Vapers.

Pipes you love but don't smoke great

I don't have any...... If they gurgle I work on the stem and airway till I can figure out and fix why... If not, they go away. And, if I can't make a pipe smoke well without smoking hot or gurgling, it also goes away. So far, I haven't had to get rid of many.

    Care to Share a smoke?>

mp31, not sure how long I'll be there. I'll be at the LaQuinta by the airport and may be there till Tuesday. I'll know more tomorrow afternoon.

    Care to Share a smoke?>

mp31, I'm flying into Charlotte tomorrow then will have to wait a bit for my partner to arrive. We'll then be driving up to Raleigh and then probably Wilmington. I'll be in that area for about a week.

    Care to Share a smoke?>

Hey, I'm flying out to NC early in the morning so drove up to St. Louis today and I'm at a hotel close to the airport. Anyone in the area interested in getting together for a smoke and a drink around the pool this afternoon?

    Tampers

    Yep, sorry!

    Tampers

Nice looking tampes. I'll second Chucks suggestion. You should join us in the tamper swap. I purchased a Delta Midi about 5 years ago and till just recently used it to make tampers and pipes. These are as close to a metal lathe as you can get without spending the money for one. You can actually...

What should be in my next order of tobacco so i can just find out what i like?

Samplers are a good way to go. When you go with samplers just try to stay with blend types you already know you like. That way you will know it's at least a blend type you've already tried and liked. Most manufaturers have a lot of the same types of blend but trying them from different blenders...

What Do You Use to Transport?

I've used several of the type set-ups you all are using. They all work great. One day I'll pick up a nicer case, hopefully one of the homemade bags I've seen made, but as said, they can be very pricey. Of course then I'll have to sell the one I have, as I won't need two big ones. :)

My first attempt at a pipe.

Longshot, that's a great pipe for a first. Isn't it great looking at something you've made yourself? Having some wood working experience helps, but making a pipe can be a different monster altogether. It is also addicting and can get expensive the more you get into it. As for the stain, I'd...

    P-lip

I've owned a few P-lip Petersons and just never took to them. I've sold, traded or given away every one that I have had. I wouldn't buy or trade for another one either, unless it was for trade fodder.
