    Lets do another tamper trade.

You don't have long Baron.......... Hop to it buddy and get to work. I hope that everyone has enjoyed this one and I'm sure there will be more of these swaps in the future.

    New Gifted to me Pipe!

Rothnh, I'm not really sure where I picked it up really. But I just never did anything with it as it was packed in a box. When I finished my new shop about 8 months ago, the wife saw it and said, I want to make a pipe with this. So you see what she came up with. She probably worked on it a total...

    Lets do another tamper trade.

Cool Ghost tamper........ Sure to scare away the pipe ghosts if used regularly! :)

    New Gifted to me Pipe!

The picture was taken at my house, and of course, not a Lonestar pipe, nor a bears den, nor did shaintiques make it. I'll let you all off the hook........... It was made from a pre-drilled kit I got a few years ago and my wife made me the pipe. It was her first try at making one and I love it...

    New Gifted to me Pipe!

I thought there would be guesses such as Ben Wade, Nording, the likes of some of the older freehand makers. There are markings, and I do know the carver, just want to see what kinds of guesses you all come up with. I will tell you all a bit later as I still want to see what guesses I get. I'm...

    New Gifted to me Pipe!

I just recieved this pipe yesterday and wanted to show it off. I also want to see if anyone can guess the maker. (No I didn't carve it! Although I'd be happy with it if I had!) So take a guess. It's a fairly larger pipe and has a swirl acrylic stem. The tobacco chamber is fairly large and deep...

Churchwarden: Who has em and how often smoked

I have probably 10 but for some reason rarely reach for them. But do like the way they smoke. I also make one on occasion but have turned to making them with both a regular and a churchwarden stem. This gives the pipe the opportunity to be enjoyed on a more regular basis. :)

    Lets do another tamper trade.

I hear that Winton. Wife thought the same thing when I just made the purchase of my bigger mill/drill machine last Saturday. But I can sell the smaller one with vice and tooling to help pay for the bigger one. I also got a good deal on my metal lathe and was happy to get it.

    Lets do another tamper trade.

It's coming together. Some nice work being shown. I actually use solid copper when I make a tamp end out of the stuff. Make it from copper rod. Looks good and adds some heft to the tamper. Should take on a patina with a little time.

    Flying to Vegas preparations.

Visited the shop when I was out there. Wasn't a line, but none of the guys were in the shop anyway. And most the refurb jobs you see done on the show are still in there. Also wanted to mention, I take Vic lighters on the plane all the time. As long as not a torch lighters can fly on US...

    Pipe Tool Pick!

I mostly use the Czech tool. I do however make a lot of tampers using various materials just because I enjoy making them when not making pipes. I mostly sell or gift most of them. I also use lots of different materials for the tamp foot such as shell casings, brass, aluminum, copper and...

    Buffing Spent Shells for Tampers

I just use a buffing wheel that I use only on metal. Takes a little bit of buffing but you can really put a shine on them. But once you use the wheel for metal you can't use it for anything else, just other types of metal.

    I'm getting a beer fridge

I had a full size fridge come with the garage that came with the new place we bought a couple years ago. Nothing like having an extra fridge to keep the cold ones in.

    Home From Arkansas

I know the area well. My parents live in the area and I grew up there. It is a great vacation spot and I try to visit at least once or twice a year. Free room and board makes it even more appealing. :)

    Lets do another tamper trade.

Ok, I finally got time to post this. I was going to leave it a surprise, but so many others are posting theirs. This one is stained oak, black rose acrylic and has a solid copper foot.

    Lets do another tamper trade.

I actually have mine done but with my Internet (can still only get dial up) hit and miss, and very slow when hitting, I haven't been able to post a picture. I'm out on the road for work and will get a picture posted hopefully this evening.

    Pipe Making Apprenticeship

I have a sander like that one. Was given to me missing parts. I'm adapting it to a box full of longer belts I picked up at an auction. Good idea adding the disc sander. I'll also build some way of adding dust collection as well.

    Is it me?

Depends on the meer too. Just like briar, the quality and engineering can make one smoke hitter. A lot of meers have a tight draw and you can tend to draw harder causing it to smoke hotter as well.
