    Ben Wade by Preben Holm

They are not. There isn't any way to tell who the carver was. He was "supervising" the production and he taught a lot of the best Danish carvers, but no way to know if an individual pipe was made by him.

    Ben Wade by Preben Holm

Is that a Prominence? I have around 60 Ben Wade/Preben Holm pipes.

Dry that stuff. It'll help the burn a lot.

Worst Drought in 50-Years Affects Corn Cob Pipe Production

I'll post again so my smart ass post can remain logic free. Here in Iowa we finally got some rain, but it is too late for almost everything except soybeans. Its going to be a crazy year ahead for commodity markets as they adjust to a shaky world economy, increased demand, and tight...

Worst Drought in 50-Years Affects Corn Cob Pipe Production

No problem...I hear they are making pipes out of some kind of tree root. It sounds promising. :P (not a cob smoker)

Ready Right Out Of The Tin

I have also turned to drying my tobacco before smoking...usually several hours worth of drying time. I feel it makes a much better smoke, but one needs to adjust the pack and smoking cadence or it'll burn fast and hot. Once I got used to smoking dry tobacco I can hardly stand to smoke any...

    Savinelli Trevi 320

I have a Tundra in the 320 shape. Its a fine smoker and the author style is a nice looking pipe. I tossed the filter ring and never looked back.

    Hobbit blend?

Grey Havens is a nice mild smoke. A really good all day blend! :puffy:

    Room Note-looking for suggestions...

Any of the Mac Baren Seven Seas blends or Villiger's 1888 Mid Day are good smelling smokes.

    Beeswax

For using it to tighten a stem, just rub the wax on the stem and push it into the pipe. It usually doesn't take a lot of wax to tighten it up.

    E-readers. Use 'em? Love 'em?

I had a Nook that lasted a little over a year and then it failed to load on start up. The warrenty was past by two weeks. I decided not to get another Nook and looked at a Kindle, but I still had books at Barnes & Noble and didn't want to lose those....so I got and Ipad and both the...

Will 2012 Flash Drought & Heat Wave Affect Pipe Smokers?

As an Iowa farmer, I can attest that this is an enormous understatement. We had .9 inches of rain in May, 1.2 inches in June, and .3 so far in July. Days of 100+F and 20-30 mph winds have just about cooked off our row crops, hay, and pasture. Watch for food prices to start rising before the...
