My First New Bowl is Just Bad

Sometimes it takes a while to get comfortable with a new pipe. It might require a different smoking style or a particular tobacco or maybe it depends on how moist the blend is. Sometimes it takes several smokes and sometimes its a matter of eternal hopefulness.

    Meers... why the rage?

I have several SMS made pipes. I always thought Sam did good work and he uses good block, in my experience. I got to meet he and his wife Beth years ago (she is from Iowa) and they are good people. That in itself may have colored my opinion of the pipes, but I think they are quality pipes. I...

    N-hit with Early Morning Pipe

Nic tolerances are so individually experienced I never trust anyone else's opinion on whether something packs an N punch until I've tried it. Like Al, I'm a nic wimp and hate getting a nic-over (like a hangover, but different drug). I usually smoke sitting down and never notice I'm getting...

    Wrong item in order

I know you didn't order it, but don't sell Villiger's Early Day short. It might surprise you! :puffpipe:

What is your favorite part about pipe smoking?

+1 Hobie. The place a good pipe takes you... where you forget the days cares, tomorrow's concerns, and yesterday's regrets.

    Am I being petty?

This is always disappointing to hear, because it will bother you every time you loook at the pipe. Even if its a great smoker it won't ever look "right". I'm no fan of Petes so I don't know anything about them, but is there a chance its a factory second or something?

    Seriously!

This part is absolutely true. Those other pipes are only good for blowing bubbles. Its a fact. 8)

    Dunhill Flake

It's one of my standby blends. Great taste! It is always a really pleasurable smoke. I try to smoke it when I can really pay attention to the pipe and make one of those "special" moments happen.

    Happy Birthday To Us!

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish my fellow countrymen a happy 4th of July. I've been away from the forum for the past few weeks and meant to wish our northern brothers a happy Canada Day Sunday, so belatedly...congratulations as well!

    Bavarian Tobacco Sniffing Contest

I stuck a pea up my nose once, of course I was only 2-3 years old at the time. Maybe my true calling in life is as a Bavarian tobacco sniffer? We'll never know. :?:

Would You Like Fries With That?

McClelland's have some very fine Virginias. Personally, I've never smelled any condiment sauce. I smell sweet quality tobacco. 8) If the smell is off putting, leave the tin open for a day and it will diminish. Don't let the tin note stop you from trying some of their blends! :puffpipe:

    June 11, 1983.....

Like most grooms, I wasn't allowed any input on my attire. Thankfully, no frilly shirts. The sense of fashion was sorely lacking back then. I probably still have leisure suits around here somewhere. :P One item I still cling to is the big clunky Danish freehands of that era. God help me, but...
