    Date On Peterson Tins

I knew better than to have the title as 'Dating Peterson Tins' - never would get the discussion back to a serious note! I was looking at ways to determine dates on my tins and came across this for Peterson tins; using the number to the right of the UPC on the top back...the first two digits are...

Found a Good Pipe Pouch for a Great Price...

There is a lining - looks to be nice synthetic. There is not a place for tobacco - I will carry that in a small separate, removable pouch or zip-lock. Works well for me - room for 2 pipes, tobacco, tools and even a tin.

    Hi, I'm New to Pipes

Important thing to remember - sip - don't puff like a freight train. Will prevent tongue bite or scorched tongue. Also, look at Peterson P-Lip bits.

Long-Winded Questions About Smoking a Pipe

Set the Eileen's Dream aside for now. Aromatics are topped with flavorings in PG. Damn near impossible to dry and light/keep lit. Also can give really bad tongue bite. Try a medium body English or oriental and let it dry a bit. Should be much easier than the wet aromatics. You will find a...

Tobacco Type and Other Begginer Questions

You may want togo with a better pipe tobacco. Pipe tobaccos have a very wide variety of flavors - much more so than cigars. You will find that, say a good English blend will be a real awakening. Life is short - worth smoking good pipe bends.

    H & H White Knight

I'm with sandollars - may need to be dried a little. I was absentmindedly huffing pretty hard at times, looking to get it going again and never even approached any bit at all. Got the briar a little warm, though! My palate is not really very sophisticated - haven't found much that is truly...

Found a Good Pipe Pouch for a Great Price...

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) - Bob I've been looking for a decent size genuine leather pipe pouch to hold all the necessities and not have to take out a second mortgage for payment. Finally began thinking outside the box and found exactly what I've been searching for...

    Long Term Cigar Storage

Personally, I would not consider using PG in my wineador. Heartfelt beads are the way to go. Mine is steady at 67% after over a year.

    Cameroon Wrappers & Construction

Actually the AJF Cameroon is a pretty good stick. What you experienced is very unusual. I'd let the seller know you expect a replacement. BTW - try a Fuente Short Story - best Cameroon out there bar none! get some gum arabic and mix with a little water - perfect to repair unraveling!

    Planning To Revisit Cigars

I'm a big Padron and LFD fan - also try POI cigars. Similar to both, but smoother than either.

    Cigar For HS Graduation?

Get him a good quality infused cigar. Coffee or cafe con leech flavor infused. Have Negro smells just like German chocolate cake when burning! Flavor is same. These are light and not too strong. Plus, non-regular cigar smokers usually love them. Also, Drew Estate Deadwood series cigars are...

    H & H White Knight

These are thoughts after one bowl from a newly opened tin. I wanted to try this one fresh to see if it warranted stocking the cellar and aging First, I've never run across a tin that simply did not want to be opened as much as this one. Like an oyster that knew what was in store. After...

    Losing Interest IN Cubans

Love the way many brands hype the "from Cuban Seed" and "Taste Like A Cuban". I read somewhere that just means it's not a Cuban! :sher:

Trying To Find Something Similar To A Particular Pipe Tobacco In Cigar Form

Maybe... not sure where you are, but say if you're in Florida - go to Ybor City and there are several shops that frequently have torcedores. If you were to drop them a double-sawbuck or so, I'd bet you could get your stuff rolled. Get it done in a nice dark Maduro wrapper - adds sweetness.

Trying To Find Something Similar To A Particular Pipe Tobacco In Cigar Form

If you want top shelf infused, try Javas. The dark Maduro smells just like German chocolate cake! Another, lower cost, but nice infused line is Tabak. Third would be Isla Del Sol. I recommended these to my new cigar people to start with when I was with a cigar shop. IMHO, most Acids are awful...

    Losing Interest IN Cubans

Has anyone else found this in their cigar preferences? I've enjoy primarily Cuban cigars over the past several years and now, my preferences seem to be changing. With the introduction of so many fine NC offerings, Cubans are not my preference any longer. There are more excellent cigars that...
