Looking for info of Briarmeer Pipes

Very nice catch. I have one and it's a good performer. I think it would have been a better pipe without the meerschaum plug though.

Show Off Your LHS Pipes Here

Well, here's one of my favorites. It's the only one I have with a 14k gold ring instead of silver. Kind of a strange stinger too, but it smokes flawlessly.

    Dr Grabow Lumberjack

Wow! What pipe that is! Mr Brog Lumberjack More of a poker shape than lumberjack eh?

    KBB Yello Bole Resto

You can use alcohol and very fine steel wool on the aluminum stinger. Use your dental pick dipped in alcohol to get in between the threads of the tenon. I can't quite tell from the picture, but you may be able to pull off the tip of the stinger once you get some of the crud off. Then you can...

    LHS before/after

Beautiful work, as usual! I've got another Sterncrest billiard coming in next week from ebay. I don't think it will ever look as good as yours, but it will be enjoyed as much.

    Your better half

Same as a lot of other guys, my wife tolerates my pipe smoking. I have my own smoking den so we don't clash over smoking in the house. She has expressed dismay over the number of pipes in my collection but they are also out in the den so that's not an issue. BTW, when I do smoke outside my...

    100 yr old NOS pipes @ SP....$55

It looks like varnish to me. I just put a bowlful of PS Balkan Supreme in mine and it afforded a very nice, cool smoke. I think the thick walled bowl and longer stem were mostly responsible for that. Not a bad pipe for the money at all.

    100 yr old NOS pipes @ SP....$55

Just got my large dublin today. It does have one small fill but otherwise well made with an open draw. I'll give it a try after work tomorrow.

Unsmoked Estates: how rare are they?

That is a very cool find! I would have taken that one home in a minute. I like to think that every unsmoked estate has a story of some kind. Maybe the pipe was a gift from a loved one and the recipient didn't live long enough to enjoy it...some tragic accident or something (Or maybe he hated the...

Very Low Grade Pipe Restoration With Questionable Results (PICS)

Nice work! I'd smoke that pipe. I got an Amphora poker that was in similar condition. I counted 11 fills on that little pipe. Fixed the crack in the shank, sanded it down and applied a dark stain. Now it's a serviceable shop pipe.

    Vintage Niagra Falls Souviner

Nice! There are a few on ebay for auction in the $35 to $50 range. I bet yours smokes really well! Longfellow Pipe

    What brand is this pipe

You say you picked it up as a "basket pipe". Does that mean you bought it new at a pipe shop? If so, I'd ask them where it came from. If it's an estate pipe you can look up the markings here: Pipe Logos "B" in a circle Welcome to the forums and good luck with the search!

    100 yr old NOS pipes @ SP....$55

I think the Smokingpipes.com description is clear that these were "everyman" types of pipes, the kind that just about any guy on the street would have in his pocket. I looked over some of the old pictures from the La Bruyère factories beforehand and thought this would be a cheap way to own a...

Can I see your meerschaum pipe(s)?

I picked up this monster in my local antique store. I don't think I'll every smoke it but will probably sell it one day. For now I just enjoy having it in my collection.

    Please don't poke the bear!

dhintonca, Hang in there and good luck! phxrock, tramadol just went controlled as of August of last year. It's Schedule IV. Some states designated it that way before the DEA required it due to its potential for abuse.

    100 yr old NOS pipes @ SP....$55

Well there goes another fifty bucks out of my account. Though the grain didn't really grab me on this one I like the length and chamber size, 7.25" and 0.85" respectively. I've paid more for less pipe. I think I'll be happy with it.

Show Off Your Dr. Grabow Pipes Here!

Here's something a little different. I saw this on ebay forlorn with no bidders. It was listed as an "Adventurer" pipe but I recognized the shape right away as a Dr Grabow Viscount Continental No 24. Now it's in my collection! I found references to similar Adventurer pipes in other forums but...

What Musical Instruments Do You Play?

I play bass violin, viola da gamba, recorders, cornetti and all manner of "ancient" instruments. I also compose and arrange. My wife plays guitar, piano, mandolin, tenor mandolin, fiddle and bass. Retirement approaches and I'm looking forward to being very busy with musical activities.
