    Girl Friends 1st Pipe Restoration

I never get tired of looking at your restorations! You provide inspiration for my own feeble attempts at it. Getting the stems right usually takes the most patience, especially to get them glassy smooth like that one. Kudos to your talented girlfriend.

I've been looking some more items from that factory just out curiosity and many of the items I see from them are painted cast iron. Cool stuff.

    Online Auction Pipe Stand

Quick Internet search shows Stjärnmetall as a Swedish company from the 1930's. I see some expensive items for auction made by them. Better not mess with your investment! Who knows what it's really worth? 8O

Some Sales Are Not, Really All That

newbroom wrote: I can't dispute that, but at the same time, I'm not willing to pay the 40% tax rate those countries levy on their citizens to accomplish that. As far as the "sale", yeah, that's pretty lame. It would be better to advertise sales in terms of percent off. At 10% off I might buy a...

    Discovering New Flavors

I had that experiance with Squadron Leader a year or so ago but have not since then. There seem to be so many variables that need to be in alignment for a pipe peak experiance.

What Blend Contained Your First Taste of Latakia?

I had been smoking Tinder Box's Crown Royale since the early 1980s. It's a mild aromatic. When it became unavailable a few years ago I decided to get adventurous and ordered their Sherlock's Choice which had been recommended online as an English blend for beginners. It's been onward and upward...

    Sit down reading pipe.

My old estate Wellington pipes are my favorite reading pipes. I see there are still pipes like those being made though I haven't tried one yet. Prices seem reasonable. You definitely want a large bowl and a long stem so you can let the pipe rest on your chest as you read. Anyway, take a look...

Show Off Your Dr. Grabow Pipes Here!

I got this Westbrook in fairly good condition. I'm finding that a lot of the original owners of these pipes didn't realize that the end of of the scoop is sometimes removeable for cleaning. It was 95% occluded and probably the reason the guy stopped smoking the pipe!

    Your Five Favorite Film Directors

A lot of people mentioned Stanley Kubrick but not what I feel to be one of his best films, "Barry Lyndon". Spielberg is one of my favorites but I think "AI-Artificial Intelligence" was his best effort at directing. Milos Forman and "Amadeus" is one of my all time favorite movies.

Good or Bad Smoke, I Don't Get It!

I've have a smoke every once and while that is an utter transcendental experiance, just thirty or forty minutes of knock out taste and maybe a slight nicotine buzz augmented by glass of wine or scotch. Medico Jet Stream Restoration

Maybe just before restaining you could blot those fills out with a sharpie pen. I've never done it myself, but I've read about others doing it. I've got my fourth Jet Stream coming in from eBay on Monday. They do smoke really well and have that Mid-Century je ne sais quoi. This was my first...
