I read from other sources that according to Cuban studies the drug offers four to six extra months of survival. While that's nothing to scoff at and it should be studied further, it's not a cure and it doesn't prevent cancer. I'm skeptical. We'll see when the studies are publicized.
Here's the whole package. The box is a little worse for wear, but the pipe and brochure are in good shape.
Photographs turn up flaws I don't see otherwise. I'll take some more micromesh to that stem at some point. I was also thinking of doing some restaining and touch up work, but my approach...
I'm building a time machine just so I can go back and get that matched grain seven day set!
Ebay has Streamliner auction ending in a few minutes but it looks like it will go over my budget pretty quickly.
I have this long stemmed, small bowl LHS Stanhope that I like a lot just for short smokes.
I also have a Kaywoodie Colt and some other short snorters like this one piece ebony thing, but the Stanhope is preferred.
I recently won an ebay auction for a Kaywoodie 91B "Handmade" Supergrain billiard with a four hole stinger. I'm very happy about that. But I'm also happy that in the original box with the pipe was the little brochure that pipe makers used to include on care and upkeep as well as listings of...
Cancer has always had a stigma attached to it long before it was clearly associated with cigarette smoking just because it was a veritable death sentence. It wasn't all that long ago people were blaming witchcraft and evil spirits for all diseases, so it's not surprising that some of that those...
Fascinating. Yes, that is very similar to my pipe. The craftsmanship on yours is a step up, I think. The metal ring on mine is very corroded. It may have been more shiney back in the day.
Thanks for posting your pipe and bring some history to light!
For thirty years or so I got by with 3 or 4 pipes. Then I started reading this forum and now the number is....well... I probably shouldn't say, but it's enough that I stopped counting.
What great find and what a very beautiful pipe! I just got another unsmoked LHS in from eBay today though it's much more recent and not as striking as yours. Congrats!

I don't suffer from TAD so much for some reason. I actually have to force myself to order tobacco sometimes and don't go through it very quickly.
Pipes are a different story. When I see one I want, either at an antique store, online retailer or ebay, somehow the 200+ pipes I already have...
Maybe not quite in the same deal bracket, but I was amused to see a pipe listed as:
"VINTAGE ANTIQUE SNELL KS 515 LARGE SIZE"
Of course it was a an Sav Antique Shell KS 515. The incomplete and improper listed made it practically invisible. It went for $12.50.
I'm not sure what those are really...
