    Old Mystery Pipes (Image heavy)

I have a pipe with the same flexible canvas hose as your second pipe has. It may be original. Mine is estimated to have been made between 1880-1920.

Show Off Your LHS Pipes Here

That's the best collection on the planet! Those Park Lanes are very nice. I found a "Made in England" LHS pipe in my collection. That was something new to me. I haven't done anything with it yet.

A Small Treat Via The IRS

I'm envious. When I attempted to e-file this year I got an error that said, "A return has already been filed using this taxpayer ID". I called the IRS immediately but the hold time for assistance was 5 hours! It took about a week to get all the forms together with copes of picture ID, previous...

    Glue Melting In MM Cob?!

I had a cobbit that jettisoned the hardwood plug on the bottom of the bowl and sent embers and ash all over the floor. Not enough glue in that case, I guess.

    NEW JARS FOR TOBACCOS

You could just rinse out the jar with grain alcohol and let it air dry, but that doesn't necessarily kill mold. (I've opened alcohol pads that had mold on them) The stuff that kills mold you wouldn't want on your tobacco.

    Restored Yellow Bole Apple

That clover leaf and "Honey Cured Briar" stamped on there shows you've got yourself a pretty old Yello-Bole. It's a survivor.

    Traveling By Ship in 1900

My ancestors who came over from Sweden on the Mauritania in 1913 in steerage would have envied that guy!

I imagine age has lightened them quite a bit (?)

Got Me a Big 'ol Marxman

Got Me a Big 'ol Marxman

Here's another Marxman I picked up from Etsy. This one if very different being smaller and having a carved bowl. The stem has a screw tenon and the threads for it are drilled into the shank, something I'm more used to seeing in a meerschaum pipe than a briar. It hasn't been smoked much but shows...

U.S. Dollar Coin Shows Mark Twain with Calabash

Y'all missed my earlier post on this. You can order it from www.usmint.gov . I bought the proof version. It comes in a very nice velvet presentation box. Costs around $47.00 for that. It's a beautiful coin.Highly recommended.

Two Is Company. 320's A Crowd (pics)

A fine looking presentation. I just put my 320 Venere back into the rotation yesterday. It never fails.

Show Off Your Dr. Grabow Pipes Here!

I finally was able to win a author shape Silver Duke on ebay. These seem to be very much sought after pipes. It was in really bad shape but cleaned up satisfactorily.

    Junk Pipes

Good reason to smoke a "shop pipe" in the shop! I've got a couple old timers I couldn't adequately restore that I use. One is an old Yello-Bole that looks like it was pulled out of the fires of Mt Doom. Smokes great though.

    Sharing Your Pipe

I would not share a warm pipe with anybody but my wife. I do keep a lot of spare pipes for situations like that and have given some away to those who look like they might stick with it.

    Estate Pipes

The randomness of ebay is one of the attractions for me. I don't spend a lot so my losses are low. Those just go into the spare parts box. The wins are just frequent enough to keep me bidding again. There was one time where I received a pipe that had damage that wasn't in the description or the...

Show Off Your LHS Pipes Here

Not as stunning as dave g's war time Superfine, (In fact it is quite plain) but I found this other example on ebay. Maybe it could someday be restored.
