***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

Seattle Pipe Club's Potlatch. I recently became an instant fan of their Plum Pudding, and it made me want to try some more of their blends. Potlatch contains, from the label: black cavendish with luxury burley, Cyprian latakia, bright Virginias, Turkish, Orientals and Acadian perique. I get a...

Thanks, I'll add that to my wishlist.

    Budget Bulk VaPer Recommendations

No but I've been wanting to try it and the one with Perique.

    Budget Bulk VaPer Recommendations

Sorry to hear that. Something you might try is adding a little burley to it. I had a blend that tasted a little strong for me, kind of a cigar taste. I added some Prince Albert to it and really improved it.

    Anyone Smoke Sutliff Majestic English?

Odd how things happen. I'd never heard of this blend before today; I guess I just overlooked it. Then today I see it mentioned two different places. I checked out the ingredients and it sounds like something I'd like: Burley, Latakia, Oriental, Perique, and Virginia. I've tried a few English...

    Budget Bulk VaPer Recommendations

Based in large part on Jim's review, I tried the Super Value English Mixture and really liked it. It has become part of my regular rotation.

    Dry Out Those Aromatics

I've had a couple of aros that needed drying. The tell-tale sign was they were sticky with PG. Loaded fresh into a pipe and smoked I could feel the steam on my tongue. Let it sit a couple of hours and it was improved.

A Happy Find: Potlatch Edition (With a Question)

I hate I missed that sale. Still learning what I like and tastes are changing. I recently discovered Plum Pudding and really like it. Just got a tin of the Potlatch and looking forward to trying it.

How Much Latakia in Lane HGL?

I recently discovered Lane HGL and really like it. I was surprised to find it is RLP-6 (basically Captain Black Original) with Latakia added. It makes me think about adding a little Latakia to some other aromatics, like Sutliff's Creme Brulee. So does anyone have a guess at how much Latakia...

At the bottom of their web page, it says "click here to learn how to get free shipping on your entire order."

Pipes & Cigars -- No Free Shipping Item

It's usually $79 but they dropped it to $65 for Father's Day. May be why they don't have the free shipping item. It's often a tin of tobacco. Last month it was a $15.99 tin, so not a great deal. Once it was Dunhill Ready Rubbed for $7.99, so you couldn't lose with that.

Serendipity -- I Found a Pipe To Fit My Churchwarden Stem

I've got a bunch of stemless pipes and pipeless stems in a box. One of the stems was a churchwarden. I was playing around one day and found that its tenon fin in the stem of a MM Country Gentleman. So now I have a Country Gentleman Churchwarden. SPC's Plum Pudding goes really well with...

Pipes & Cigars -- No Free Shipping Item

Since I started smoking a pipe again and shopping the internet tobacco sellers, P & C has had an item that gives you free shipping if you buy it. Sometimes it was something I wanted, sometimes not. I always like to check each month and see what the item is. I've used this option a couple of...

    Tobacciana Without Health Warnings

For tins with the warning, I take a straight edge as a guide and cut through the label, then peel off the offending part. In the US some new tobacco still comes without the warning. I guess it depends on how it is imported.

    Lane vs. Captain Black

I didn't care much for Captain Black original when I started smoking years ago, but recently I tried it again and liked it. I also got some Lane RLP-6 and I cannot tell the difference between them. I can't really tell the difference between BCA and Captain Black Dark now that I've had more of it.

    Edward G. Robinson Blend

I like it enough to keep it in stock and have a dedicated pipe for it. It has a taste different from any other tobacco I've tried. I think it is cased with a liquor or wine, giving it a fruity taste for me. I would recommend it.

Boy Oh Boy Pipe Tobacco The Affordable Luxury

I first started about 20 years ago, and even then thought how much cheaper it was compared to cigars and cigarettes (I've never been a cigarette smoker). I was kind of on-and-off pipes for several years, but took it up again last year. I noticed some changes (Dr. Grabow pipes used to be about...

Lane HGL--A Gateway to Latakia for Aromatic Smokers

After it was suggested to me recently, I ordered an ounce of Lane HGL to try out. It contains burley, cavendish, Virgina, and the above mentioned Latakia. I came to try it looking for variations on an English tobacco I like--John Bull. I tried it and like it pretty well. I plan to order...

Recommendations for a Burley and Perique Blend?

I've been sampling a lot of different blends recently. A couple got me thinking about a blend that was burley and perique, maybe with little or no Virginia. Latakia would be optional, but probably want some in it. Can you recommend a blend that is basically burley with some perique?
