    My Review of Lane BLWB

I had been sampling a lot of different blends of aromatics, and while liking some of them, they always seemed lacking. The added flavoring would wane as I smoked down the bowl, and I was left with nothing but an acrid, bitter taste towards the end. The common denominator to these blends was...

    Looming Laws in 2021?

Is there any way to find out how old a given blend is, or is there a list of blends that might be cut by the deeming regulations? I've been looking and can't find anything.

Recommendations on Tobacco and/or Pipe Related Books?

"Webber's Guide to Pipes and Pipe Smoking" is a good introduction. "Pipe and Pouch, The Smokers Own Book of Poetry" is a collection of poems featuring smoking in all its forms. It's available as a free download on archive.org.

Possible Way To Save Tin Art?

Yes I like the idea of either a card enclosed or an outer sleeve that has the warning. I don't think I would want adhesives inside the tin. There is a website that has some labels without the warning so you can print them. Google "cellar labels" I think.

***What Are You Smoking? January 2020.***

Right now Half & Half really hits the spot. When I first tried it I didn't like it. It seems I go through cycles of liking and not liking this blend more than any other tobacco.

Can Internet Tobacco Orders Be Banned In A Spending Bill?

I wrote my congressman, letting him know that living in a rural area I was dependent on online purchasing. He represents a mostly rural district here in Missouri. I don't know if my email helped, but he at least acknowledged receiving it.

    They Shall Not Grow Old

Recently I viewed the documentary They Shall Not Grow Old (2018). It is restored and colorized film footage of British soldiers in WW I. Lots of smoking by soldiers, mostly cigarettes, but a lot of pipe smokers were in there too. They even discuss at one point getting tobacco to the troops...

The Reliability of Mason Jars for Long Term Aging/Storage

I've got a wire-bail jar that's approaching 20 years, and a regular mason jar that's 10 years and counting. Both are doing just fine.

    Hobbit Weed

Regarding Hobbit's Weed vs. Cult Blood Red Moon: I smoke a mix for HW I made from a recipe for the Tewksburry version, not the 4 Noggins version. I like both HW and CBRM. They are different, but I'd say if you like one you'll like the other. They are my favorite aromatics right now.

Lane Closing in US--Should I Worry?

Lane announced they will be closing their Tucker, GA facility by 2020. From what little information given, it sounds like the same blends will still be available after that, only produced in other countries. Does anyone think this will lead to fewer blends being produced, or other problems for...

Lane TK-6 vs. Cult Blood Red Moon

I'll have to give it a try. Is it anything like Very Cherry? The VC has too much of a cherry syrup taste for me on its own, however I have mixed it with other blends and really like it.

Lane TK-6 vs. Cult Blood Red Moon

I'd heard from a couple of people that TK-6 was just the bulk version of Cult BRM. I've been smoking BRM and really like it, but if a bulk version could be had I'd like to save money. So I got an ounce of TK-6 and tried it. Smoked it in briars and a cob that I have reserved for cherry blends...

    found Kentucky Club Mixture!

I've got some I've had jarred for almost 20 years. I've been meaning to give it another try.

    Best Estate Pipe Find

About 20 years ago I picked up this Savinelli Canadian for $4 at a flea market. Had to pay another $6 for a replacement stem. It's my favorite pipe.

    Cult Blood Red Moon

I just got a tin of this and really like it. I read a claim that Lane TK-6 is the same, bulk tobacco. Anyone know if there's any truth to this? I've heard it about the other Lane blends being the same as Captain Black blends, but those taste different to me.

    Removing Screw-In Stems After Smoking

Thanks, I wondered about the movement being an issue when warm. I've had to adjust a couple I got that were way off.

    Removing Screw-In Stems After Smoking

I know to let a pipe cool before removing the stem on regular briar pipes. But for Kaywoodie and other pipes that have the screw-in stems, is it alright to remove it for cleaning immediately after, or even during, smoking? Or should I let it cool like I do my other briars?

    Lane vs. Captain Black

I smoke Captain Black Royal and bought some bulk 1Q believing it to be the same. It's not. It looks and tastes different. I smoked the 1Q in a pipe reserved for CBR and was disappointed. I had some CB Dark that was about a year old. Maybe age was the only difference, but I liked it better...

Show Off Your Savinelli Pipe Here!

Thanks. I think you're probably right about it being a repair. I don't see any cracks so I think I will get a replacement stem for it and see how it smokes.
