    Where's Kevin

LINK ALERT! LINK ALERT! I had to ask the same question a week or so ago. I couldn't figure out how to change my avatar. Computers make me craz(y)(ier). Thanks again Kevin for the forum playground. Oh, I think he is just to the right of the guy in the red shirt jacket in the pic above... 8O

    1937 GBD R9239 Rhodesian (9242??)

Sorry, I should have explained the question better. I have been told that the 'gold' rondelle is just gold colored aluminum and that the gold wears off to show bare aluminum. And the 'normal' ones would be aluminum. I was just curious about the silver mounting and wondered if they went so far...

    4 Oz Mason Jar

Interesting thread. I have handled a LOT of canning jars, having grown up in a family who 'put up' food in jars and done so myself. I have NEVER seen a jar lid with stripped threads. Very odd. I use wide mouth jars when I can, but I do have some pint jars with normal lids. They are OK, but a...

    1937 GBD R9239 Rhodesian (9242??)

Beautiful work Al. Can you tell if the stem rondelle is silver or is it a 'normal' GBD piece?

    Black Frigate

I had red beans and dried goat in Riohacha, Colombia. Delicious. Open air 'restaurant' with horse hide leather seats on the chairs. Miss those days... LONG ago, but memory says the restaurant looked like this. Pic from net, in Riohacha.

Smoking The Best Is Not Expensive

I had some nice cigars when I lived in Nicaragua. Cigars make me loopy though. Unfortunately, we didn't get to make the planned visit to the cigar factory. The economy crashed and the job ended... sigh. (November '08)

What Is With All the Links To Threads Instead Of Answers?

I found no evidence of the 'old boy' issue. I am as ignorant as anyone can be about lots of things, but snobby is NOT this place. I felt (a feeling from a forum...) welcomed from day one. But, I won't post a link to it...
