    New Sign

Supposedly, sighs can be recycled. But it is quite difficult, I hear, and using new ones is the best course for most of us. (Sigh, it is a sign...) 8)

    A Long Shanked BriarKob

    A very interesting pipe indeed.

    Bulls Eye Shellac and Pipes

Breathing is not done by pipes. Moisture transpiration or wicking, but no breathing, except through the chamber and shank, back and forth, not sideways. Sasquatch, is that copper on the shank of the pipe? I really like that look.

    Ebay Pipnet Deal

I too like vintage quality tools. I will keep an eye out for the pipnet set, but when the current batch of estate pipes are completed, I shouldn't need reamers either.

    Finally Got a Nice Meerschaum

Nice pipe, and wow... the bowl walls are thick. Should be a good one.

    Ebay Pipnet Deal

I will have to take some closeup pics of my Decatur. The blades are properly made, sharp on one edge like a normal reamer. If the handle were larger on it, it would be very easy to crack a pipe. I was just curious to see what the differences were. If it is a big deal, I would look for a set...

    Ebay Pipnet Deal

Someone please explain the differences between this set and a Decatur or other 'clone'.

    Lee Van Cleef Pipe

I managed to snag this apparently unsmoked WDC Wellington stummel. The nickel band is loose so I can properly glue it in place during this build. The stems I ordered came yesterday. They were supposed to be vulcanite, but they are apparently acrylic. I made a delrin mortise insert for the...

    Starting This Hobby in India

Keep the Borkum Riff. I was introduced to pipe smoking this time around by a fellow who had been smoking for a very long time. He smoked BR only. Yes, please do tell us more about your homeland and show us pictures.

A Bowl for Finland's 100 Years of Independence

Speaking of firearms, Finland is responsible for one of the finest little sub-machine guns ever made. The KP-31 (Suomi as we know it) is just about as perfect as a firearm can be. Beautiful, well made and tough.

    Watch Out or Watch On?

I don't wear a watch anymore. This is the last one I wore. It had a metal clasp band on it, but that broke while I was at the airport on my last trip home from the last job. Must have been a sign. This band was in the box, it was the original that came with the watch. Self winder, not a bad...

Help: Is There A possible Restoration To This

Nearly anything can be fixed. Please do post pics of the repaired pipe though. That one doesn't look too difficult. I am looking for a pipe to experiment on though. I want a broken bowl to fix.

    What's On Your Christmas List?

Me too, look at my avatar. I have had that hat for about 25 years. Love it.

    Aromatics vs. Everything Else

I like 'em all so far. I normally choose a tobacco and then pick out the likely pipe for the day. I never worry about what it has had or will have... just smoke 'em. I like the adventure of new tobacco, pipe matters not so far.

    Cold In The South

Sposed to be 32 here tomorrow, in the daytime... NINE whole degrees tonight. I have been downloading WWII documentaries to watch when nothing else is worth watching. Some of those are VERY interesting.

Cherrywood....Branch Sections - for Pipe Making

I have seen pictures of a lot of pipes made from branch wood. Just be sure to get it stabilized and dry before making something out of it.
