Starting to Get Obsessed

Sorry I haven't been super active lately. Between my regular duties at the church, having another newborn around the house, and fighting through a pretty debilitating shoulder injury, it's been hard to keep up with Internet social things.

I had surgery on my shoulder yesterday. I'm home resting now. Hopefully it will be better soon, but I'm told it will be a long recovery. Fortunately for me I was able to get a pipe in last night. The only difficult part I had was running the pipe cleaner... Anyhow, just want to let you guys know what I was up to and that I'm doing okay. ~Rev

Been there. The first few weeks of recovery were hell. It will get better. The exercises in this series helped me tremendously. Check with your doctor before trying them.

Well it’s been a day so I’m glad I can load up this new Pete with some Poplar Camp, hang out with my fuzzy pal and listen to some tunes. This guy Billy Strings is an amazing guitar player and plays in that old timey way. View attachment 379397

Wonderful to listen to, and I get a kick out of watching someone play in that style. It's just, well fun! I'm more of a rock and metal player myself, for over 30 something odd years and after all this time only recently gotten into Celtic and Fingerstyle and it's almost like learning from scratch all over again. My picking hand fingers are all like... "What are we doing here? We don't do this!" LOL thanks for sharing.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, haddock and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've passed the half way mark of this bowl of year 2014 FVF in a straight smooth brown year 1923 Dunhill A billiard 60 patent March 9.15 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. First time smoking this pipe. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. I have two more of David's pipes ready to smoke as soon as I figure out what blends to dedicate it them. That's always hard for me to figure out. Two other pipes have clean bowls, but the shanks and stems need more cleaning. The ferals have been very quiet today. Still haven't seen Abner the Eager.

Stepping outside with a bowl of Drew Estate Meat Pie in a Savinelli Bacco 321 rusticated author. The inch or so of snow that fell overnight was just enough to nudge the previously drying grounds back into mud-pit territory again. On the plus side, one of our 300 gallon water tanks we store rain collection in is now mostly full. Next time someone tells you that it never precipitates in California, kindly smack them for me. But please have them sign a release first. ;)

Bird report: Dark-eyed junco, White-crowned sparrow, California towhee, Steller's jay, California scrub-jay, American crow, Red-tailed hawk, Hairy woodpecker, Mountain chickadee, White-breasted nuthatch, Acorn woodpecker, Northern flicker, Spotted towhee, and California quail. Good crew today.
