    Ben Wade ID

I didn’t know that, but it makes sense. A pretty common practice for most of the Danish Carvers. They rarely ever work alone on label pipes.

    Ben Wade ID

As I understand it, all “freehand” Ben Wades were made by Preben Holm. Now, if you’re talking about non-Freehand Ben Wades that’s a whole different story. Ben Wade was a family owned pipe factory in Leeds, England making traditional English pipes from 1860 to 1965. At that time it was bought...

    Is this a Lumberman pipe?

Hard to tell from the pics, is the shank round or oval? If it’s round it’s a Lovat if it’s oval it’s a lumberman.

    French? Hallmark Dating - Comoy

I wish I had something to add to this conversation but unfortunately my knowledge of French pipes is on par with my knowledge of French food, wine, the French language, pauvre.

What Is It? Pipe Cleaner Holder Maybe?

    Dunhill reamer pouch maybe.

    Banding Square Shank Help

As George said square shank bands are a bastard. But not impossible, it’s easier to make a silver band for one out of sheer silver than it is to try to get a premade square band to fit one though. I do have some square bands btw.

    Tender Box

The Tinder Box was a huge chain that was mostly in Malls. It was probably the largest chain Tobacconist’s in the U.S. at one time.

Private Selection Peterson Spigots & The 999 Dingle Stem Puzzle

The spigot is crimped onto the vulcanite, there is no way to separate them with damaging one or the other.

Private Selection Peterson Spigots & The 999 Dingle Stem Puzzle

I don’t think I’d call them Huber editions, Pheifen Huber places their stamps on most of the pipes they sell. But they are retail stamps, not factory. But having said that Huber has in the past had a somewhat unique relationship with Peterson in that they were a retailer with enough clout to get...

    Yet Another Peterson Question

What you have there is a “Dummy” or Irish Second that someone has probably intentionally buffed the stamping off of to obscure its status. The hard kink in the stem and the crude button were hallmarks of early Dummies and Irish Seconds.

    Peterson Condenser Retrofit

The inverted 7 in leu of an L coupled with the fact that it’s likely a had cut stem, could indicate a Paddy Larigan special. Paddy was known to do things like this. The hand cut stem could have been a special request, a repair, a factory tour special for an esteemed guest, etc. paddy was known...

Smoking Haddo's Delight From A Nearly 22 Year Old Mylar Bag

Jesse, a man with as fine a pipe collection as yourself should not have to resort to smoking from a Mylar bag. Use a pipe, for your safety. 😂

    Barling ?

Barling is one of those pipes that you need to have a very comprehensive understanding of if you’re going to be forking over your hard earned dollars for an expensive one. Barlings span the entire spectrum of quality and collectibility from very high end and collectible to absolute garbage. Some...

    Overturned meerschaum screwed-in stem

The triangle tang of a small file inserted into the draft hole of the tenon will usually provide enough bite to unscrew it if it’s cemented into place with tar. WDC actually made a tool do this about 100 years ago but they are hard to find. I’ve got a couple of them but usually still use a file...

    Overturned meerschaum screwed-in stem

Ok, a couple of things. What does the other end of the tenon look like? Are you able to remove it from the stem? If so it may be a double thread pitch tenon. Try unscrewing the tenon from the stem. If it’s double pitch tenon, you just need to turn it in the stem a little to get it to clock back...

    Overturned meerschaum screwed-in stem

Pictures would help. There are no meerschaum tenons, there are bone tenons, and I suspect that’s what you have.

And I wonder why I can’t get any Stonehaven 🤣.
