What Do You Use to Transport?
I like my zip-around Peterson 2-pipe bag for weekend trips. It's quality black leather, with loops for a pipe tool, 2 pipes, and a small tobacco pouch (snaps out for carrying). There's space for pipe cleaners and a cloth. It's just what I've needed for years to toss into a suitcase.- jimbo

Dental Check-up today
I more or less quit pipe smoking for about 5 years. When I came back to it, I noticed I was now leaving a mysterious (small,shallow) tooth mark, more like a mar, in the top of the stems. This is even with the pipes I smoked before that I left no marks on. I have had some minor dental work...- jimbo

polishing vulcanite stems
On vulcanite stems I have used Flitz metal polish paste rubbed in with a cloth and polished. It seems to work fine. Be sure you remove all the polish with clean cloth and pipe cleaner soaked in whatever alcohol you use for that. I rub my vulcanite stems with the Briar Pipe Wipe rag after... -

When the tobac is completely consumed, I stir up the ashes with the spoon end of my pipe nail and pressing my hand over the bowl, I shake up the ashes inside.
