Very nice. Meerschaums smoke beautifully. Congrats!

    Rubbing Alcohol to Clean Pipes

I know this is somewhat extravagant but I use Jim Beam Bourbon to clean my pipes after every 5 - 6 smokes. Does the job for me. Because I always clean my pipes thoroughly with a pipe cleaner after every smoke, I find I do not need to use a lot of alcohol. I use this also to restore pipe stems of...

    The Den

    Pipe Tobacco Ottawa

I live in Nepean. I have purchased from Eli(Cigar Man) at Southbank News, Comerford and Sons, and Ottawa Cigar Emporium, all of which are pricey. I have never ordered from 4 Noggins but I have ordered from Smokingpipes.com. Their prices are great and they have pretty much everything and the...

    Trying Frog Morton

Hard to beat Cellar. My go to blend since the first time I tried it two months ago. I immediately ordered three more 100g tins. Now I have some socked away. Excellent tobacco blend. Sometimes when walking by the cabinet where I store my tobacco, I will pause and take time to open my Mason Jar...

    Food and Drink Tobacco Pairing

Sometimes I pair a good English blend with Lapsang Souchong Star tea. The smokey flavour of the tea is a wonderful complement to the pipe tobacco. I have a friend I smoke with once or twice a month and we have been enjoying a wee dram of Forty Creek Canadian Rye Whiskey with our bowls. Twice he...

    Frog Morton Series?

Frog Morton's Cellar is my go to tobacco right now. Flavor is incredible and in my experience with it, lasts through the whole bowl. Of the series, Frog Morton original would be number 2 and FMOTB would be third. FMOTB has a generous amount of perique and so approach it accordingly. Excellent...

    Just For Him Blends

I would rate the STM as the top of the line, then Ruins of Isengard. I have tried both Longbottom leaf and Old Toby. While both are pleasant I felt they just did not come up to my same level of enjoyment as STM and ROI. All the best!

Am I the Only Crazy Person Doing This?

Yes, add my name to your list. Although I may not be as crazy as cautious - being that I am a Canadian ordering from the States and as long as I keep it under a certain weight I do not have to pay the exorbitant customs and import fees. Method in my madness!

    Pipe Smoking and Humidity

I live in eastern Ontario and the humidity has been high this summer. I have noticed a difference. I end up having to re-light a bowl two to three times that normally would stay lit with one light. I also have to give my pipes, tobacco, and accessories time to adjust as I bring them from...

Books and Articles About Pipe Smoking

I have read The Pipe Book by Dunhill, Book of Pipes and Tobacco by Carl Ehwa, In Search of Pipe Dreams by Rick Newcombe, and Pipe:The art and lore of a great tradition by Robin Crole. Great sources for pipe smokers, both novice and long-timers.

New Off Fan Unit for Belt Amazing

I smoke my pipe on the patio and this time of year it can be mosquito central. I was skeptical about the Off Clip On Mosquito repellant unit but it is amazing. So I commend it to all of you who move to the back yard to smoke.

    Question About Tolkien's Pipe

My only experience with this is my Peterson Mark Twain which has the gap. An interesting design choice.

Frog Morton's Cellar - Full Review w/ Tobacco Pousse Cafe

Excellent review. My favourite tobacco blend.

    Peterson Old Dublin

I tried Old Dublin for the first time about a month ago. I liked the blend and flavour. I don't know whether any of the rest of you experienced this or not but I really got buzzed from the vitamin N.

    So What Are You Drinking

Usually just plain ice water when I am smoking. Between bowls sometimes I drink a Strongbow Cider. As I have been told it is not wise to drink alcohol while smoking a pipe, I usually save my Jim Beam Devil's Cut or Forty Creek Canadian Rye Whiskey for after the bowl is finished.

    How I Enjoy a Pipe :D

Sit on my patio in the back yard. In winter I only smoke a couple of bowls once or twice a month at a friend's place who has a smoking room. Snow up to three feet deep covers my patio in the winter months. Summer is a treat - I can just walk out side and set up my lawn chair and enjoy a bowl or...

    Butz-Choquin Pipe Opinions

I own three Butz(actually my wife's maiden name)-Choquin pipes. My favourite is my churchwarden. The design is very unique and the price was right. It smokes beautifully. The other two are briar pipes - one new, one an estate pipe. I have been very pleased with all of them. My other favourite...

What did You do Today When Smoking Your Pipe?

I sat on my patio and smoked some Frog Morton's Cellar in my Butz-Choquin Churchwarden. While sitting there quietly enjoying the bowl, a piliated woodpecker landed on the black locust tree nearby. Beautiful sight. Bonus!
