It's taken me too long, but I've recently noticed that one of my tobacco-purchase habits indicates a lack of common sense, or a tinge of insanity, on my part. When ordering from P&C or SP, I'll sit for a half hour and hem and haw over adding another $8-&11 tin to my order for a meager total of three or four per order, feeling I shouldn't spend that extra amount despite the looming tobaccolypse. Then I'll drop the same amount on each of a handful of cigars like it's nothing.
One cigar versus a tin of tobacco. This should be obvious. Part of the problem is that I enjoy cigars almost as much as pipes, but that "almost" is an important one in this case.
I'm sure the older and wiser here have already figured this out, but I'm curious as to whether anyone else does this. I myself plan on showing a little more prudence in the future.
Now I'm comparing my humidor to my tiny cellar...
