    P&C 20% Off Everything

I got the "buy two get one free" deal on Sutlif Private Stock tobaccos and a resupply of Balkan Supreme. Twenty percent off all that isn't bad. I'm going broke saving money :crying:

    Great Great Grampa?

Ha ha! Pretty good! Here's the real deal, my great grandfather: Not nearly as "glamorous". Fortunately Grandpa Joe was able to pull his life together after this and become a decent husband, dad and grandfather! Ten years later: He never smoked, but the little kid in his arms (my Grandpa...

My pipe is marked PIPE DREAMS

I wonder if it's a "basket pipe" with the store name stamped on it?

    Yello-Bole Imperial 1930's- Picture Heavy

Congrats on acquiring your grandfather's pipe. It appears he took very good care of his pipes, unlike my grandfather. His pipes came to me with dings, scorched rims and ashtray burns! I still treasure them though.

    Broke my stem

Yeah, I've shattered some stems when I first started refurbishing my pipes, one of them in three parts. 8O I glued the pieces all together, then sanded and polished the stem. If you look closely the repairs are noticeable but the pipe smokes just as before. Gives it some "character" and reminds...

    Broke my stem

It happens. Can you super glue it back together? (I'm not sure what part of the stem is the "riser".)

Poor Cobbled Up Yello-Bole - One Lousy Pic

Looks completely natural to me! Very nice.

    DUI Blues

Also agreed. When I was in Japan there was NO tolerance for drunk drivers. Even now, if I've had even one beer at dinner I'm not driving. It's just not worth the risk.

    Aha! Sipping!

12pups, I've tried to teach my son how to do this but it seems some people just don't have the ability. You should be able to force air from your mouth out through your nose. It goes the same route milk takes when you take a drink and suddenly laugh. :P

    I got lucky today

That is a fantastic win! I've got a lot of Medico pipes and there isn't a single one I don't like. (Even the Brylon one)

    Joy of Pipe Smoking

Here's the pipe I used last night. It's probably just an old basket pipe from a now defunct store called "Tobacconist Inc". Sure smokes fine though. Just did a search of that name. Seems there is still a store in Chicago by that name.

Start Of An American Collection (Kaywoodie Regent)

Every Kaywoodie I've come across has been a winner and yours is gorgeous! Congrats.

    The Charring Light

My experiance is that if you take the time to do the charring light correcting you probably won't have to do a relight until much later. As mentioned there are variables to take into account.

    Joy of Pipe Smoking

I work swing shift, usually getting home after midnight. It's been a tough work week and I've been darting out to the cave during the week for a quick smoke usually choosing an aromatic blend like County Cork or Espresso (both pretty good blends) to unwind before checking e-mail and the forums...

Thoughts On The Maker Of This Pipe

That is indeed a ton of briar for $15.00! How does it smoke?

And a New P&T Web Comic Was Born...

I love these! It's amazing how expressive they can be. I especially like the "face claw" pose!

Start Of An American Collection (Kaywoodie Regent)

I've got a Supergrain #44 out in the shop waiting for me to refurbish. I din't think I can match your skills, but now I'm inspired!

    Can Smoking Make Me Sick?

Nicotine does stimulate the nerves that regulate digestion. So it seems you could be experiencing symptoms like you (vaguely) describe even without taking in all that much nicotine. As others have suggested, have something to eat or drink before you smoke.

    Any Gamers On Here?

I once had a hobby of building and modding PCs so it's natural I got into PC gaming. I remember downloading the Doom demo levels when they first came out and introducing it to my kids who were five and three at the time. Wasn't long before I had three computers networked in the house. In order...

    1931-38 Kaywoodie Early Supergrain Billiard

Classic! I've got a No 44 six sided panel waiting for me in the shop for this weekend. Seems like everybody's collecting Kaywoodies these days. Makes 'em very hard to get for a decent price.
