    WDC Waldorf

dave, the people who run your stores must get their prices from ebay! It's a nice store run by a very nice lady who sometimes forgets to charge me, though I haven't left without paying yet =) She leases space to two different guys, both who seem to bring in something new in the way of pipes...

    WDC Waldorf

Found a WDC Waldorf last weekend at my local antique store. I did the usual cleaning and sanitizing. All I know is Waldorf pipes were a second line for WDC. Don't know how old it is, maybe 50's or 60's? Anyway, it's a sweet little pipe.

Show Off Your LHS Pipes Here

@dave g says: Exactly! Actually, all the estate pipes on ebay now are about ten bucks higher than they were year ago. Last time I looked a few days ago I saw charred old Medico bowls without stems starting at $15.00 .

I see those on ebay all the time. I'll be more inclined to bid on one after learning all this.

    "Age Limit" for Pipe Smoking?

I was 18 and right out of high school. My girlfriend took me to a local Tinder Box, bought me a nice "Verona" pipe and four ounces of Crown Royale tobacco. How could I not marry her after that? That was 42 years ago.

    What Is This Shape Named?

Here's a very small photo of it right here at Pipes Magazine on Fred Brown's blog, top left of page. It's not an exact match, but sort of the same design idea. Boer Pipe

Show Off Your Savinelli Pipe Here!

I've wanted a author for a long time. When I saw this one on sale at P&C I instantly pulled the trigger. Got to use my 20% off coupon code too. It's a 320 KS "Venere". The insert in the box explains "The colour of the pipe reminds you of the blonde and soft hair of Venus". That it does =)

    What Is This Shape Named?

I saw a shape like that in an old Wally Frank catalog once. I think it was called a "Boer" shape.

Sailing the Black Seas of Pretentiousness

I appreciate the story. Very amusing. As a Black Seas tobacco mini review, I went through a tin of it awhile back and found just bland. It wasn't overtly offensive. It just didn't offer what I was looking for which is more flavor. It is a step up from the pouch blends, but with so many quality...

    IT Support

You know, I upgraded and used it for a week, then un-upgraded. It's pretty easy to go back to Windows 7, if that's what you've got, so nothing to lose by trying it out. I didn't like all the social media stuff, touchscreen friendliness and the ugly colored boxes on my desktop monitor. I didn't...

Thanks jvnshr! I have a question for you or someone else who has worked with MS Office 2007. I've done two previous installs of MS Office on my previous computers that have gone defunct over the years and and never had a problem. This last one has just been a mess concerning Outlook. Problem 1...

    Please Pass This On

elbert, if you are referring to my post about preserving Christmas traditions I'm talking about holly, candy canes, ginger bread houses, family gatherings, Christmas trees, nativity scenes, the lights, carols, bells, THAT sort of stuff. Geeze, I thought I was the Scrooge! Here in Portland this...

    Please Pass This On

I consider myself a fairly devout Roman Catholic Christian, but Christmas has never been a central holiday for me. The cultural traditions are nice and I'd like to see those preserved. If you have a cup company and would like to have my business please do put some Christmas symbols on them. If...
