    Tobacco Trends?

I've been wanting to try Butternut Burley for a long time....trouble is, I can't order tobacco on the net...and I haven't found any locally.

    Fills That Reveal Themselves Later

My Savinelli (Erica Fiamma) did the same thing. Beautiful straight grain that I couldn't see any flaws on when I purchased it. Then after a half dozen-ish smokes it shows up plain as day. From some of the other comments, it sounds like Savinelli is good at hiding fills (at least initially).

    Letting a bowl sit

Ditto with the last three posts...I almost never finish a pipe in one sitting. Occasionally the first few puffs are a little bitter, but it seems to depend on the 'baccy. If it doesn't mellow out after a few puffs then I will dump it.

    My latest pipe pickup!

Dudley, A quick google says...yes, Radice currently makes twin bore pipes! Seems they may have been a fad for a while, disappeared perhaps, and came back to some degree.

    What games do you play?

Large sudoku puzzles I used to play pool frequently...don't get around to it much anymore.

    My latest pipe pickup!

There are a couple schools of thoughts on bent Bulldogs. 1. Some insist that a Bulldog is straight stemmed and anything with a bent stem is a Rhodesian. 2. Others say that a Bulldog has a diamond shank while the Rhodesian has a round shank. Personally...I am of the second group. To me, you've...

    My small, cheap collection

Spending high dollars certainly is not a requirement for enjoying pipes! Nice collection! "The Ball" is an eye catcher to me as well.

    For Nerd Eyes Only...

It was soooo many years ago that I last played one of these. I can't even remember the name of the one I used to play.

    Lord of the Rings

Along the same lines is the Shannara series by Terry Brooks. Characters include druids, elves, trolls, dwarves, etc. although the story line is presented in the distant future long after a holocaust has destroyed todays civilizations. The first book in the series, "The Sword of Shannara", was...

The Start of My Pipe Collection?

I almost offered the suggestion of using fine grit sandpaper (emery cloth), but thought you might feel a bit uneasy about it (first pipe and all...)

The Start of My Pipe Collection?

Beautiful pipe! I definitely wouldn't worry about the minor mark inside the rim. Just think of it as adding character to the pipe. Besides, eventually you are going to accidentally add some more character yourself! As for the sharp corners on one side...I suspect that symmetry in pipe making...

    Musicians on the Forums

@ robs: Those are some beauties you've got there. Thanks for the comment on my kit...if I had a larger room to put it in, I'd have a larger kit! :D @ superdan: Sweet looking bass! @ Kevin: Very nice strings! That flashback pic is "Far out man!" Thanks for sharing.

    Musicians on the Forums

After taking the pics of my set...I'm almost ashamed to post them :) I guess I don't notice how much dust is on them while I'm playing! And a pic of my small venue setup - hands only, no sticks. I've since added a couple more pieces, but don't have any pics (nor is it currently setup).
