Lately I've noticed a few threads with people mentioning they play an instrument or two. If you're one of them, this is your thread. Post up what you play and throw up a picture or two of your equipment if you please.
I'll start.
I've been playing drums since I was 9 (going on 12 years). It's probably one of my favorite things to do.

Drummer also! Been playing, off and on, for...errrr....23 years.
No pics currently, but I'll try to sort something out soon.
Nice looking set BTW!

I've been playing guitar for 46 years and piano for 40 years. I have 28 guitars and my trusty Fender Rhodes piano. I enjoy playing anything from Bach to Rock but especially jazz. This is the gift I cherish most from my parents, other than being born of course. I teach guitar and banjo at our local community center and have a ball doing it. Keeps a 58 year old geezer sharp, never flat and alway natural.

I have played the drums off and on since I was about 8 when I got a Tama Rockstar set. It's in storage back in Texas so I found a picture online of what it looks like. I think its the same as yours.

Right on guys. I'm impressed. To me, musical talent is one of the best things you can have. I'm not big into sports, never was, probably never will be. Music just seems so much deeper and more expressive.
Wallbright, my set is a superstar. They replaced the Rockstar with them and at the same time, made some upgrades.

I got a lot of respect for anyone that can play an instrument, even more so if they can do it well. I wish I could play guitar, but I never got proper lessons - maybe one day I will, it's just one of the 3 instruments I want to know how to play; I wish I could play the drums as well (Rock Band doesn't quite count, though I play it often and lay into expert drum mode). Lastly, I wish I could play the piano or keyboards, it's got to be the most versatile instrument, IMO.
BTW, I'm also a Subaru enthusiast and used to own two, but now I only own one.

Don't get me started on Rockband haha. It is pretty cool for what it is, but I can't even finish a song in normal mode without failing. It takes everything you learn on an instrument and flips it around. What I mean is, you lose all creativity which is the most important part.
What kind of Subie do you own? I used to have a 97 OBS, but sold it due to mileage (205k). I currently own an 05 Mazda 3 and I can't wait to get rid of it. I plan on getting an 06-07 WRX (hopefully STi) within the next year.

As a former drummer myself, I find it interesting that, so far, everybody who's posted up has played an instrument from the rythm section.

So much for my theory that pipe smokers are oral-retentive.

After taking the pics of my set...I'm almost ashamed to post them :)
I guess I don't notice how much dust is on them while I'm playing!

And a pic of my small venue setup - hands only, no sticks. I've since added a couple more pieces, but don't have any pics (nor is it currently setup).

here's my bass, it started as a squier p bass beginers pack, but i've upgraded almost everything on it, stripped the finish and hand painted it orange :D carved the headstock down to a nice telecaster shape, and new electronics

Nothing at all wrong with Squiers. The Strat I use is an old Squier Body and is still the most resonant Strat I have met in years.

Here are my instruments of choice.

That's a 1983 Fender Precision made in the USA and purchased at Sam Ash in NYC in 1983.
The guitar is an Ovation Anniversary Edition purchased in 1979 at Sam Ash in Edison, NJ.
Here is a picture of my band in 1981. I am on the left with a Fender Musicmaster.

@ robs: Those are some beauties you've got there.

Thanks for the comment on my kit...if I had a larger room to put it in, I'd have a larger kit! :D
@ superdan: Sweet looking bass!
@ Kevin: Very nice strings! That flashback pic is "Far out man!" Thanks for sharing.
