    2 new aquisitions

Not certain, but I think inserting a carriage return between image code lines is needed. Here are the two pics rbergum wanted to share. Nice looking pipes!

How to get that taste out of your mouth.

Even if somebody "caught" you rinsing &/or brushing in the restroom...you could always argue that good oral hygiene is nothing to be ashamed of!

    Enjoy!!!!

Going back with gold would be a bad choice as well... Today ~$1300/t.oz 1939: ~$35/t.oz

    Musicians on the Forums

Drummer also! Been playing, off and on, for...errrr....23 years. No pics currently, but I'll try to sort something out soon. Nice looking set BTW!

PAD causes fiance to start smoking pipes... help.

I would actually be quite pleased if my wife wanted to join in! I consider you to be a lucky man! Of course, after many years of cigarette smoking (me) and very little nagging about it (her), I would be surprised if she ever became overly concerned with my pipe smoking.

Which side of the mouth do you put your pipe?

Both also...probably close to 50/50. Port = left

    MATCHES!

Same boat as colonel.... I used matches almost exclusively when I first picked up the pipe, but switched to butane somewhere along the way. Might be time to give matches another try.

    Cigar Leaf

I have never been into cigars enough to have a stash of them, so I'm not exactly how decimated an "exploded" cigar is...but this could be the solution your looking for.... http://www.youtube.com/user/TropBobB#p/u/11/PDOH6W1t7Yk I'm pretty sure this vid has been posted before, but it was several...

Very nice collection indeed! That is a serious stockpile of SWR! Love the Savinelli cabinet!

    Pipe Lighter Pros, Cons, Recommendations

I ended up choosing an Old Boy because I loved the classic look. The Pipe Master and Pipe Magie just aren't visually appealing to me. Also...my Old Boy has the built-in poker/tamper.

    Your thoughts on churchwardens?

I noticed a couple of comments about the length of churchwardens being a deterrent over time (not travel friendly, special pipe cleaners, etc). This was one of the primary reasons why I decided to buy a Stanwell HCA when I got my churchwarden. The Stanwells come with an additional short stem...

    The Breath Smoking Technique

I read that article several months ago and gave it a go. I never really seemed to get the grasp of it and always ended up puffing away in the manner I always have. It could be I never put enough thought into it to learn how to make it feel natural.

    Help!

I have an old(ish) Butz Choquin billiard that had a loose stem. It wasn't so loose that the stem would fall out, but was pretty easy to rotate and remove when the pipe was cool and dry. While smoking, the heat and moisture would cause it too tighten up a little and be just fine. I tried...

    Ratio and Proportion

I'm a somewhat smaller guy @ 5'9" and 135lbs. My preference is for smaller pipes (dunhill group 3-ish), but not because I feel out of proportion. Smaller pipes are easier to clench and I prefer shorter smokes. Even with smaller pipes, I almost never smoke a bowl start to finish in one sitting.

    Pipe Restoring Tips

I say yes to the use of isopropyl...stems and shanks (innards only of course, unless you want to remove the finish). On a few restorations, I've removed the stem, stuffed cork in the bowl and filled the pipe up with isopropyl using a dropper (pipe standing up on the front of the bowl). I've let...

    Repairing a cracked stem?

An alternative to having a new stem made, would be to have the stem fitted with a new tenon. Delrin is finally becoming a pretty popular material for the tenon as it is quite a bit more durable. Not exactly a DYI task though, but I would think it would be quite a bit cheaper.

Dunhill Cumberland 1982 pipe and tool

I don't think that a 1982 would be considered collectible at this point... I would therefore guess that the pipes value is approximately the same as what a new Dunhill Cumberland would cost ($300-500-ish?)

    Bents or Straights?

No real preference. I'm about 50-50...although most my bents are 1/8-1/4. I've been looking for an Oom Paul, but haven't found one I can't live without yet!
