Now available: Missouri Meerschaum Cob Cigars
I got mine in a couple of days ago but haven't tried it yet. I noticed also that the stem doesn't sit flush.It is also very tight,couldn't get it out. May have to stick it in the freezer for a while. Noticed also that the stem is hard to hold when I ain't wearing my dentures-- and I don't wear... -

+1 !! I not only make stupid tampers but I collect tampers and pipe tools,both handmade and factory made. Would love to have a half dozen each of the Ming Kahuna and Zap Zap tampers and they cost more than a lousy $20.00 !!- ejames

I buy female threaded inserts from McMaster-Carr. The male threaded pieces start out as a 3/4" long 1/4"X20 brass bolt I buy at a local hardware store. I cut the heads off and then drill a .140 hole all the way through them for the pick. The tips I machine from brass or aluminum rod or sometimes...- ejames

Beware use of unspecified lighter fluid use in your Zippo!
I buy lighter fluid at then local discount cigarette store where I get most of my OTC tobacco. They carry both Ronson and Zippo fluid,as well as flint,wicks etc, but the Ronson is in a bigger container--and cheaper.- ejames
