JB Weld
For most repairs I use a good epoxy but have used JB Weld to repair broken shanks and to build up the bottom of burnt out bowls or bowls that have an airway drilled above the bottom of the bowl,or bowls that I have plugged. always with pipe mud over it. Won A 1940s Dr. Grabow: Before and After
The Linkman "era" actually extended to about 1954-55 when HLT bought both the Dr. Grabow Pipe Co and Linkman ( and Van Roy) and moved them to Sparta,NC. and formed Sparta Pipes. Linkman made the DG pipes up until then,they just were not stamped Linkman after 1944. -

Carter Hall--A Revelation
IMHO--Carter Hall is the good stuff !! I have tobacco from Mac B., Rattray,Orlil,Solani,Mc Clelland,Sutliff,and others. Anyone Able to Identify this Mystery Pipe?
Linkmans did make a pipe in that shape,shows as a shape 89 in the 1937 catalog shape charts. They also used a stem inlay like that on the "Courtliegh" line and maybe others. It is not unusual to find an unstamped Grabow product although it is less likely to see an unstamped Linkmans than the... -
