    Gaslight Vs. Nightcap?

The creosote, road tar, gasoline, descriptions of Gaslight are very apt. I mean that in a good way, which is why it's hard to describe the flavor of Gaslight. It definitely has that quality to it, but in a good way. I suppose the mechanics is different as well if that matters to...

    Peterson Finishes

They seem to be making WAY more of the rusticated pipes and now they've gone and darkened the Aran line. They just came out with the dark Tyrone's last year (or so) and now they've really darkened the Arans for some reason. I think they look horrible and I'm really sad about it. I thought a...

    Michigan Residents Take Notice

Interesting there's a number of Michiganders on here? Many in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area or mostly up north?

    Filter Pipes?

I find the 9mm charcoal filters work best for me. I love them. I've tried the 6mm charcoal but find they REALLY restrict the draw an uncomfortable amount. The 6mm balsa filters don't do much of anything for me, so I stick with 9mm charcoal almost exclusively. Having said that, I've found...

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

I indicated that I'd post the levels they are testing for. I'm not sure anyone is actually interested, but since I said I would: < 10 ng/mL for blood test < 100 ng/mL for urine

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

Because I believe it's an unfair system. They make their move. I make mine. I'm sorry you believe this to make me a bad person.

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

That's great, thank you! I've been hoping to hear from someone who has taken the test previously. This is helpful!

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

Interesting graphic here illlustrating how these levels are measured. Nanograms per milliliter. When I get home I'll look at post what the levels are that they're looking for. Interesting as well in that link they're not talking about anything but cigarettes. Hard to get a comparison.

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

Well, like the tobacco use and the BMI, I think the point is that if you're not within their (again, the insurance company, not the job) limits, you have to participate in some sort of program to lower or manage your cholesterol. As long as you continue to do that work, I think you get the...

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

In fairness it's the insurance company, not the job. There are a lot of retirees that are still getting healthcare benefits from us so as a "pool" of employees we look kind of bad (not very many young healthy strapping individuals, lots of old retired people) so this was the best we could get...

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

I was wondering about that...the THC part. The insurance company doesn't say anything about that, only this "cotinine." I got ticked off thinking I'll have to pay a higher premium for smoking a pipe, but it'd be fine if I smoked pot?? Maybe it's a given that it'd disqualify you so it's not...

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

Yup, that's number 2 on the list after tobacco use. "Enhanced level" requires a BMI under 30. Some folks at work with a BMI above that are on their respective "program" and have been given Fitbits to track their movement and have step requirements. Cholesterol and blood sugar are on there as...

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

Well I'm just a regular old white dude, so I'm not thinking that helps me much. Or does it? No one's ever said I come off as highly polymorphic and I don't identify as such, so...I'll be good then? All kidding aside, it is interesting to read about. I honestly understand about 2% of what...

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

Interesting...I wonder how many "halves" before it is beneath their detectible levels though. I don't have the paperwork with me, but if anyone is interested I can post what the levels are that they're looking for.

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

Yes, and if nicotine is detected in the test, I can still get "enhanced" coverage if I agree to participate in their "tobacco abatement program" - but will have to eventually get retested and produce a negative test, so I really want to get a clean result the first go.

Nicotine Test for Benefits at Work

I have started in a new position and my benefits have changed. My place of work has Blue Care Network (BCN) and there are two "tiers" of coverage; enhanced and standard. The enhanced offers both lower premiums and co-pays. In order to qualify for "enhanced" I have to submit to a number of...

Many thanks! This is really helpful!

    Match Walnut (Sutliff)

Lot's of folks like this blend and I do too. The one drawback for me is that I get a slight perfume note to it which I don't ever hear anyone else mention. Ever. Is it the rum topping that's added and I taste it as "perfume" or is it the turkish component and I just don't know what turkish...
