    What are You Reading?

John Adams. Very good read and very big, it should keep me occupied for a while.

Very new smoker. Need your help.

I agree with unclearthur, Peterson makes a fine pipe and the Kapet line is well priced. I'd encourage you to use a bit of patience if you decide to give it a go. Pipe smoking takes a bit of time to get the hang of, but is worth it if you are patient enough with the process. Good luck!

    Public Pipe Smoking

I started at around 23, and never really gave it much thought. The only comments I would get generally dealt with wether it was weed or tobacco in my pipe, but my hair being past my shoulders and the Pink Floyd T-shirt probably had more to do with that than my age. Oh well. I have had a...

    One of pipes I made

Looks great! I too like the look and feel of a pipe with no finish on it, and the shape on this one is great, its hard to beat a sitter.

    My next purchases

Those are great, but that meerschaum is beautiful, hope you can get it.

    Another Bulldog for the Collection....

Great pipe! I love the shape, and the fact that its a P-lip. Are there other companies beside Peterson and Savinelli that produce P-lips? Does the gentleman who carved this pipe offer these occasionally, or is it just an oddity that he fitted it with a p-lip stem?

    South Carolina Pipe Club

Does anyone know of a Pipe Club in the Upstate of South Carolina or Western North Carolina? There's a fairly large community of pipe smokers, but I've never been able to find information on a club. I just thought I'd throw this out to the forum in case any Carolinians were out there.

    Refinished Grandfathers Pipe Stand

I like that pipe stand, its an interesting design, and the fact that it belonged to your grandfather makes it even cooler. Well done.

    Another Bulldog for the Collection....

Nice, especially with it being a P-lip, I'm a big fan of those.

    For the Coffee Heads

I've head of the "cold brew" method but am not very familiar with it. I'm with you romeo, I've heard that its best for chilled coffee drinks, or just a cold cup of coffee. I generally just use the old Cuisinart for day to day stuff, always whole beans that I'll grind as I use them, and a...

    For the Coffee Heads

Baskerville, I've heard of folks roasting their own beans in an oven, that might be something to google.

3 things I learned to improve my pipe smoking experience

I agree with Kevin, if you clean with alcohol, its always good practice to "test" it before and after you clean your pipe to be sure that the liquor hasn't spoiled or turned. I've never had that happen, but you never know, better safe than sorry.

    Good new for slobberers

I've always thought that a Scottie or Schnauzer would look good with a pipe. I've tried to get my wee Schnauzer to pick up the habit, but its proving to be a difficult endeavor.

    For the Coffee Heads

Mmm coffee. I'm a big fan of Leopard Forest Coffee, a small roaster near my house here in SC, and Zeke's, which is in Baltimore. I don't know that I've ever had any Cafe Bustelo, but will have to check them out.
