My first attempt at a pipe.

Very nice. I've been thinking of buying a pre-drilled blank and busting out the Dremel. This may have given me the correct inspiration!

    Petersons smokes hot anyone?

I smoke a lot of english blends as well in my Pete's, and agree with Arthur, they just take a little longer to break in than usual.

four new revamped estates (pic heavy)

Very Nice, I especially like the lovet with the circular rustification on the very front.

    How far down?

Depends on the tobacco. Some burn great all the way down, but others get too wet. If I end up fighting with it to the point that I'm no longer enjoying the smoke, I'll let that last bit go unburned.

    P-lip

I prefer Peterson's with a P-Lip. I think of it like I do with cigars, whether you prefer a punch, or what type of cut you like, etc. It really just comes down to preference. I've never smoked one upside down, but I say if you like it, go for it!

    Wine with a smoke?

I bet mead would be good, I haven't managed to get my hands on any of that yet. I'll have to track some down and try it.

    New Cellar

Great advice everyone, thanks very much!

    Your intro's to condiment tobaccos

I enjoyed latakia and perique right away. That may be effected by the fact that I smoked cigars before I got into pipes, or just my taste, I'm not really sure.

    ashtrays

Gecko, I tried your method and I think I might have broken something, are you sure it works? I must not be doing it right.

    ashtrays

A cork from a bottle of champagne, or other fizzy wine works just as well.

    ashtrays

I bought a cork "pipe knocker" and glued it into a "Stinky" brand cigar ashtray, works great and won't bang up your pipe.

    Cup of Joes

I've ordered one Peterson from them, had nothing but a good experience with them.

Cornell & Diehl Haunted Bookshop - Pipe Tobacco Reviews

Fullbent, it seems we share some similar taste with tobacco. I'm still learning about the different types myself, any suggestions?

Cornell & Diehl Haunted Bookshop - Pipe Tobacco Reviews

Great review. I've just had a bowl of this from an order I placed with C&D, and I agree, its a great smoke!
  16. thekiltedchaplain

    New Cellar

Yeah, I imagine that will be a problem. Can you let them age too long to where it would no longer benefit the tobacco?
  17. thekiltedchaplain

    Hot Darn Hot

"I can watch some guy use a million dollars wotrh of machines to build a hundred dollar table" Isn't that the truth, whatever happened to craftsmanship?

    New Cellar

After reading that so many folks will tuck away some tobacco to age, I just started by own tobacco cellar! So far its a modest 3 blends, but I'm sure it will grow over time. All are C&D: Billy Budd, Haunted Bookshop, and Bayou Morning. I've just stuck them in my closest to hang out for...

What do you uses these for?

Anyone else live in a state where its legal to sell glass "tobacco pipes"? That always kills me.

What do you uses these for?

"window and faucet dont care whether screens come form the hardware store or head shop." Thats awesome! HaHaaHaa
